flows through this method.
There are countless formulas that attempt to estimate the peak flow of a basin based on
various experiences; but when it comes to employing one, the basin to be studied must
to be within the validity range of the formula, otherwise it may lead to
maximum flows very far from reality. They are very simple equations:

The return of 5 years is the following:
Q = 74*103 * A*10-4,17.Ao.0J2
For each return period a coefficient is assigned. These coefficients are shown in the
next table (average slope of the river basin is greater than 5%):
The results obtained through this method of flow calculation are reflected in the
Appendix 03 of flow calculation.

It is the oldest model of the rainfall-flow relationship. This model considers, in addition to the
It addresses the basin, the intensity of the precipitation. It is based on the following formula:
Being: Pd: Daily precipitation obtained through the analysis marked by the publication
Maximum Daily Precipitations from the Ministry of Development.
Po: Runoff threshold Average of the Basin (obtained in the
Hydrological characterization of the basin: 20.9mm.
According to Instruction 5.2-IC figure 2.5 is increased for the zone of

This theory only considers the obtaining of the surface runoff hydrograph;
the underground is disregarded, so it is based exclusively on the net hyetograms
(of net precipitation).
In the event of a downpour, the basin responds with an outflow hydrograph. The hydrograph method
unitary consists of dividing the downpour into elemental input precipitations (called
unitary rainfalls and type), determine the elemental outflow hydrographs they generate
such precipitation (called unit hydrographs and type) and combine such
hydrograms to obtain the total hydrogram originated by the downpour.
For this study, the Clark HU Method was used, which is based on two parameters to
estimate the avenue, the Concentration Time, and the storage coefficientRthat already
have been described previously.
The HEC-HMS program was used for modeling and obtaining the flow rates.

The table that determines the maximum precipitation in 24 hours is the following:
Based on the 24-hour precipitation data obtained at point 3.4.1.1, the following have been developed.
the histograms with the intensities of precipitation, using the block method
alternating, according to the IDF curves.
For obtaining the hyetograms, 49 intervals of 0.5 hours are used. The hyetograms
obtained are exposed in Appendix 2.
The analysis of precipitation intensity will be carried out using the formulas to obtain
theIDFcurves(Intensity, Duration, Frequency):
Being:
It(mm/h): Average intensity corresponding to the desired duration interval.
Id(mm/h): Daily average precipitation intensity, corresponding to the return period
considered. It equals Pd/24.
Total daily precipitation corresponding to the given return period.
11/ld: Quotient between hourly intensity and daily, regardless of the period of
return. Obtained according to Instruction 5.2-IC.
T(h): Duration of the interval it refers to.

In principle, the HEC-HMS model is designed to provide the user with the following
components for the simulation of precipitation-runoff-erosion:
These models are similar to those included in HEC-1. In addition to these, HEC-HMS includes:
An automatic calibration package that can estimate certain model parameters and
the initial conditions, given the observations of the hydrometeorological conditions.
This application will be very useful in the current study.
Links with databases that allow storing data, retrieving and connecting with
other analysis tools available from HEC or other sources.
Due to all these features, HEC-HMS is one of the best programs for
hydrological modeling that currently exists, so it will be applied for the preparation
from the study of flows for the Unit Hydrograph method by the Clark method in this
work.
