Dwadamsha (D-12)

This chart has 12 divisions of a rashi that is 30 /12 =2°30’ each. The counting starts
from the Sign where Planet is posited. Thus the first dwadamsha of any rashi will be
same rashi.

Parashar has given a clue to understand by grouping the dwadamsha under the lords
as below:

2nd 6th 10th Ashwini Kumar
3rd 7th 11th Yama
4th 8th 12th Ahi or Serpent

According to the lords we can judge the nature

Ganesha: Gets success after struggle, intelligent, obedient, full of qualities and has
wisdom.

Ashwini kumar: Benefic, lucky, intelligent, wise, healthy and active upto long time.

Yama: Face sudden problems, reduction in age, restrain, has selfcontrol, morality,
equality, justice and observance.

Ahi or serpent: Opposition and enimity, wickedness, cheating, has to snatch the rights
and face problems in success.

What is seen from it

 Longevity and comforts of parents.


 Happiness from parents
 Social and financial status of parents
 The vansh (family) of the native and hereditary diseases.
 All the worldly happiness or sorrows native get in life can also be judged.
 The results of rashis and bhavas are seen in same way as in rashi chart.

Some rules of Dwadamsha

 If lagna here is of Leo the native will carry the legacy of the family and be
involved in family business.
 If lagnesh of D-12 is having relation with lagna of D-1 in the natal chart then
his luck and success is equivalent to parents.
 If the lagnesh of D-12 is in shubhpanchak and in Kendra/trikona in D-12 then
he gets more success in parental occupation.
 If 8th house in D-12 has no planets or strong benefic planets the parents have
long age.
 If the lagnesh of D-12 makes relation with lagna, ninth or tenth in D12 then
native gets great success and goes ahead of parental status.
 If the lagnesh of D-12 has relation with 6th,, 8th and 12th in D-12 or D-1 then he
gets less support and happiness from parents. Also he himself gets less success.
 In D-12 its lagnesh is in labh bhav (11th ) then he inherits parental property
(Patrik virasat)
 Lagnesh of D-12 is in ashubhpanchak, pap kartari, combust or debilitated in
natal chart then his luck favours him less. His parents face losses and he
doesnot have cordial relations with them. He gets less success and face
unhappiness.
 Lagnesh of D-12 is in shubh Panchal and in Kendra/trakona or Upchey bhav
in D-1 or D-12 then receives happiness from oarents.
 Any bhava lord of natal chart is in good bhava and rashi in D-12 then those
houses give full results.
 If the lords of ashubh bhav (inauspicious houses) in natal chart are Venus,
Saturn and Mercury and are posited in Moon sign in D-12 then it surely gives
disease.
 In D-12 if its lagnesh or Moon is with Gullick it gives diseases.
 Moon or lagnesh of D-1 are in inauspicious or debilitated sign or in trik bhav
in D-12 then gets some disease.
 Planets in 6th house of D-12 indicates sudden problems though they be benefic
or malefic.
 If 7th lord of D-12 is benefic planet or aspected by benefics the native gets happy
married life and if malefic then not happy life.

Results according to the placement of dwadash lagna

Third Will glorify father’s name, will be ahead in family with one’s
own hard work
Fourth Gets happiness, fame and name, is lucky and gets status in
society
Fifth Takes care of parents, happy and most educated in the family
Sixth Opposing, under debt, possibility of disease and inclinataion
towards maternal family
Seventh Happy, supporting spouse, get sons, business which has daily
income (Roz amdani wala vyavsay)
House/Bhava Results
Eighth Accidental death, suicidal yoga and ruthless or unemotional
towards family
Ninth Religious, cares for parents, goes for pilgrimage, Preacher and
writer
Tenth Wealth, fame, status will be best in family, famous in profession
or business
Eleventh Profit, easy wealth, gain from share market
Twelfth Loss of money and assets, bad company, loss of fsmily (kul
hani) and infamy (badnami)

Results of D-12 lagna in different signs

Taurus/Vrishabh Is weak and sickly. Has a good spouse.
Gemini/Mithun Is modest, gentle and fond of gambling
Cancer/Kark Is vicious and sinful

Virgo/Kanya Is fond of gambling and passionate
Libra/Tula Is wealthy businessman
Scorpio/Vrishchik Is violent, murderous and deceptive like thief
Sagittarius/Dhanu Is emotionally attached to grandparents and noble persons
Capricorn/Makar Is prosperous and wealthy
Aquarius/Kumbh Is wicked and has many servants
Pisces/Meen Is rich and learned
Trishamsha (D-30)

As per the name it should be 30 divisions but her we have five division as below:

What Trishamsha shows:

All Arishtas are predicted from this Varga chart. It shows all bad luck that is sorrows,
diseases, poverty, unsuccess, insults, debts, fights, fear, upsets, losses, calamities and
all sorts of adversities.

Trishamsha does not give lordship to Sun and Moon, so Sun in rashi of Mars and Moon in
rashi of Venus are considered to be in their own sign

Trishamshas lordship are assigned to deities as under:

Deity/trishmsha Character
Vahni /Agni God Vahini means fire and both trishamshas belongs to
1st of odd & 5th of even Mars’ sign, which is fiery planet. It signifies
wounds, volence, burning, fever, surgeries, high
blood pressure, abortions etc. Thus these
trishamshas will indicate fears from fires, fire
arms,, electric shocks, injuries, bilious (pitta)
problems etc.
Sameer /vayu God Sameer means wind and both are in Saturn Rashi
2nd of odd & 4th of even which is Airy planet. It has significations like
fainting, paralysis of legs, chronic diseases,
hysteria, cancer, insanity, thieves, injury due to fall
etc. and also Vata. These trishamshas give fears of
losses due to strong winds, avalanches, tornedos,
diseases like rheumatism, body pain, respiratory
problems and related to vatta (wind).
Shakra /Indra God Shakra is Indra so it refers to king but also means a
3 of odd & 3 of even vegetable poison. The lord of the rashis here is
rd rd

Jupiter which is a natural benefic planet and


signifies Obesity, jaundice, anaemia, etc. This
trisasha indicates the curse from Brahmins,
conflicts at temple, controversies from senior
officers or noble person, litigations etc. The shakra
also means vegetable poison thus native may suffer
from allergies from flowers, herbs.

Deity/trishmsha Character
Dhanad /Kuber God Kuber is god of wealth. The planet owning these
4th of odd & 2nd of even rashis is Mercury whih is earthy planet. It signifies
maternal relations, step mother, nervous system,
treasury etc. thus the trisshamsha show sources of
misfortune can be rich person, poor memory,
nervous breakdown, skin diseases, business and
financial losses , punishment due to financial
irregularities or penalties.
Jalad / Varun God Jalad means cloud and varun is regent of ocean. The
5th of odd & 1st of even planet lord here is Venus and is watery palnet. Its
significations are wife, genital organs, generative
capacity, kidney, fear from witches and humour is
vatta and pitta. This trishamsha causes troubles
from water like floods, cloud burst, typhoons etc. It
sufferings due to venereal diseases, sexually
transmitted diseases, water borne diseases.

Analysis of the chart:

 This chart is also studied in reference to rashi chart. If the planet’s position is
good in both then gives good results, if in one then medium and is bad in both
then bad results.
 The lagnesh of D-30 is in Kendra/trikona and posited with or aspected by
benefic palnets or is in shubhpanchak itself then native is disease free and
spends peaceful life.
 If lagnesh is debilitated or combust or aspected or has relation with malefic
planets the gets problems due to or enimity with. Will be stressed own
relatives. He will be under stress and suffer due to diseases.
 Lagnesh in 6th,8th or 12th then will face problems due to diseases, court cases,
losses etc.
 One of the rules given in shastras is that if Saturn is in own
trishamsha(Capricorn or Aquarius) the he suffers due to diseases, bad family
life, has extramarital relation, is unsocialand always under stress.
 8th lord of both D-1 and D-30 are in shubhpanchakand has benefic aspect in D-
30 then has natural and peaceful death. But if the condition is reverse the
unnatural or death in bad conditions.
 If any planet is in shubhpanchak in D-30 then all the significations of that planet
will be good. But in contrary to this there will be loss in significations.
 Even if only one planet in D-30 is in shubhpanchak and has benefic relation
then gets wealth, respect and worldly happiness according to the status of
planet (exalted, Mooltrikona, own or friendly sign).
 If native is born in trishamsha of strong benefic planet then he will be truthful
and good speaker. Also words he speak will be come true. But in ashubh
trishamsha it will be reverse.
 Trishamsha lord is in 6th house in D-1 or D-30 then the native will face
punishments, penalties or bondage.
 Trishamsha lord is in 7th house in D-1 or D-30 then the native will happy
married life.
 Trishamsha lord is in 8th house in D-1 or D-30 and is debilitated and malefic
then the native will be in govt. imprisonment or has controversies with govt.
 Trishamsha lord is in 12th house in D-1 or D-30 then the native will spend
money in litigation, penalties etc.
 If malefic are posited in 2nd, 7th, 8th, 12th of D-30 then there are hurdles in
married life
