Some people think that it is better to educate boys and girls in separate schools.
Others,
however, believe that boys and girls benefit more from attending mixed schools. Discuss both
views and give your opinion.
Public at large have different opinions on gaining benefit from education in the single-sex
schools in comparison with the mixed schools. While many people suggest that it would be
beneficial to instruct in schools at which boys or girls just study, others, including myself,
relate that sudying in mixed schools would be more advantageous due to some reasons.
A large number of people opine that it would be effective to study at schools at which males
and females are divided. They consider education in mixed schools as a distraction. As each
gender has specific physical and mental traites, company of opposite sex can cause decrease in
span attention which leads to poor results in their final exams. Furthermore, different genders
have various learning styles due to their gifted potentials. Thus it can trigger difficulties for
their teachers to deal with them and manage classes. For instance, girls seem generally more
active than boys when they attend schools.
Inspite of the first group, others , including myself, strongly believe that company of different
genders at schools would be more useful. In their point of view, studying in such schools can
simulate a real life in a limited community which brings about developing better some social
and communicative skills as well as the ability in solving problems. Also since teenagers are
blessed with sense of competition due to their characteristics, they are eager to surpass
others. As a result, it provides students with a healthy competitive educational environment
at which classmates can compete with each other and improve their knowledge in terms of
their curricular.
All in all, although many people think that studying in single-sex schools can be more
advantagous awing to disposing of hesitation factors, making profit from better control of
classes and applying more effective learning methods, others, including me , are of the co-
educational environments because it can bring about students to rival more their peers and
become more sociable individuals in their future life.
