B. Instructions
• The final assignment (case study) involves business evaluation, business strategic formulation and
implementation for the company of your choice in Assessment 3. The purpose of this assignment is to
assess your ability to apply the tools learned.
• Complete the three parts of this assessment as outlined below:
o Part 1 (40 marks)
You are required to evaluate your chosen company’s strengths and weaknesses. To do so, you
need to analyze the sales revenue, sales & marketing activities, financial data, operational
efficiency and human resources of the company to identify its strengths and weaknesses. Use
Political, Economic, Social and Technology factors to assess external opportunities and threats.
Kindly refer to Topic 2.
o Part 2 (40 marks)
Develop business goals (sales revenue and profitability) of the company for the period from July
2025 to June 2026. Provide justification for the goals.
Based on the evaluation in part 1, generate corporate strategies for overcoming the issues and
capitalizing on the opportunities in growing the business. Select one or two appropriate corporate
strategic tools provided (SWOT, SPACE, BCG, IE, GSM) to identify a few corporate strategies. Then,
use the QSPM tool to select the best two corporate strategies. Provide justification for each of the
corporate strategies recommended. In addition, to overcome the company’s weaknesses, propose
suitable functional strategies with justification for each of them. Kindly refer to Topics 3, 4 and 5.
o Part 3 (20 marks)
Develop a comprehensive implementation action plan
with a schedule for your corporate strategies and functional strategies to achieve the desired
goals. In addition, discuss the challenges in implementing the corporate strategies.
C. Submission guidelines
• Word count: The word length is 4,000 words ± 10%, excluding table of contents and references but
including tables and figures. State the word count in the last page before the References page.
• Formatting: The assignment must be submitted as a Word Document. The settings of the Word
document include: A4 portrait size paper with 1 inch page margins in Times New Roman 12 with 1.5
line spacing in justified format.
• Cover page: Students must attach an assignment cover page with their name, student ID, subject
code and title, and the deadline for the assignment.
• Referencing style: Use APA 7th referencing style. No footnotes. Try to present your tables and figures
(together with labels and references) in the actual report for easy reading, not in the appendices.
• Before submitting your assessment through the LMS, ensure that your Turnitin similarity index is no
more than 20%. A higher score will be flagged for plagiarism. If it is higher than 20%, you may delete
your submission (before the due date) and resubmit another copy of your assessment.
