Yes N/A P/L
1 Perform a visual inspection of Pipes & fittings. Ensure it is in good
condition and not damaged.
Ensure Pipes & fittings is covered with Tarpaulin/Polythene sheets to
2 protect from dust or water ingress and surrounding area is clean and
dry.
If the Pipes & fittings is found damaged, record activities in comments
3 section of this document & also produce equipment damage report in co-
ordination with Vendor after rectification
4 Check preservation pack boundaries & isolations.
5 Ensure that equipment are properly spaded & tagged at the piping
preservation boundaries
Ensure there is a dummy blind at the end of each re-orientated spool, if
6 any (a temporary Drain/Charging valves to be used on blind if
necessary).
7 Ensure all valves within preservation pack are in “open” position.
8 Ensure all isolation valves are in ’”closed” position and all drain valves
within the system are closed.
9 Ensure that system is connected with nitrogen source through suitable
regulator & hose, e.g. Nitrogen supply network or nitrogen cylinder.
10 Ensure area(s) for pipe work runs are barred off wherever required.
11 Ensure a "End point” vent valve is fitted within the preservation pack.

12 Charge the system with nitrogen until the nitrogen is released through
"End point" vent valve and then close the vent valve.
13 Carbon steel lines larger than DN 50 (2 in) pressurise the system at
positive pressure of 0.5 bar N2 and close / Plug the charging valve.
Ensure 'system internally preserved' labels are affixed/tied to pipe work.
14 E.g. to all drain valves, spaded flanged joints, all valves within the
system and at charging valve.
15 Display a 'Do Not Open Tag” on boundary limit isolation valves.
16 Check physical condition of pressure gauges & all valves within the
system and make sure are preserved as per required
17 Check nitrogen pressure every week and charge if required. (Maintain
Log Sheet)
18 After inspection, update the equipment preservation tag.
