Wide Receiver Drills (Miami)

*Stance & Start


 Keep shoulders over knees and nose over toes
 Balanced forward lean
 Pointed foot is straight down field (Foot closest to the LOS is up)
 Back foot is 2-3 inches of the ground
 No false steps
 Keep hands up (numbers high)
 Burst out keeping pad level low
o Stance & Start/ second step transition (i.e. TOP OF ROUTE: HITCH)
o Fast hands fast feet at the top end (Beat the drum)
o Stay compact
o Pop the feet on break and stay under control

Sink Drill 3 Step Cut Drill
Backpedal

Quick Hands

Coach or player will have on boxing gloves or pads

Each WR will work their fast hands with the Dip & Rip release (stationary)
Each WR will give 4-5 hits and release either outside or inside

3 hit combo

Each WR will give a 3 hit combo and get back on top (restack) of the DB
Diamond Release

Take 2-3 hard steps to the outside then cut across the face of the DB for an inside or release

Dip & Rip (Fast hands vs. Pop-up Dummy)

 Run in place (Stay stationary)


 Dipping & ripping continuously
 4 Dip & rips, then release either outside or inside
