7. Answer the following questions:
1. Let the breadth of the field = x m
∴ its length = 3x m
And, its perimeter = 2 × (length + breadth)
= 2 × (3x + x) = 2 × 4x = 8x m
∴ Distance covered in 1 round = 8x m
⇒ Distance covered in 6 rounds = 6 × 8x m = 48x m
∴ 48x = 6000 [∵ 6 km = 6 × 1000 m = 6000 m]

2. Given that, Distance covered by Pinky in one round = Perimeter of the square
= 4 × length of a side

= 2 × (length + breadth)
= 2 × (160 m + 105 m)
= 2 × 265 m = 530 m
Difference in the distance covered = 530 m – 300 m = 230 m.
Thus, Bob covers more distance by 230 m.

We are given that, area of 1 small square = 1 sq cm
∴ Area of 11 small squares = 11 × Area of a small square

and the width of path = 30 m
