Key Terms and Operational Definition

JJC take a contract deal from client. It delivers the project by design bid build.

It makes a contract deal with a consultant office. The consultant office prepare an architectural and
structural drawing of the project. Although the main contractor is JJC, it has subcontractor that executes
carpenter and mason works. The major players in executing a construction are;

The Project Manager


As I shown it on the chart, The Project Manager administer the whole project of the site including
Finance, office and Site Engineer and suppliers. The Manager assigns all to follow schedule of the
project. As a manager, he monitor the acceleration of the project. Delays can happen due to several
reasons. He assigns the office engineer to prepare daily diary and reported to him every week.

Finance administration is also directed by the manager.

The Consultant
The consultant office prepare Architectural and structural drawing of the project. The consultant gives
strict structural recommendation during executing the construction. He/She make sure m carried out
based on specification.

The Site Engineer


The site engineer manages the workflow of the project. The Engineer changes the detail drawing of the
project to the ground. He make sure work is carried out according to the specification and schedule. He
passes instructions through the General Forman. The Forman directed sub contactors, carpenter, mason
and Daily labors.

General Forman
General Forman is managed by the site engineer. He passes information to the Assistant Forman. The
assistant subordinate work to carpenters, mason and daily labors. He has much authority on site.
Because he manages every worker under him.

The Office Engineer


The Office Engineer prepare payment, weekly cost break down and Daily diary. The Engineer prepare
payment based on the data collected. Daily Report is reported to the project manager by the office
engineer. If any work has not been carried out, he/she has a responsibility to report

Data Collector
The data collector gather daily work activities on site. He/she is the right hand man for theoffice

engineer. Payment is made based on the collected data. Data collector also help as an assistant

office engineer on preparing take off sheet.

Store Keeper
The Store Keeper controls all equipment used on site. He manages work item in and out.
