1. INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this AIP Supplement is to inform the stakeholders (Airlines, ANSP,
regulator etc.) likely to use the information, about the schedule of work activities that
will be carried out at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, Lucknow.
1.1 This AIP supplement shall be valid from 1630 UTC of 18th April 2024 up to 0030 UTC
of 30th OCTOBER 2024.
1.2 All works / construction activities planned on portion of runway strip within 105m from
centre line of runway and North of Runway End Safety Area (RESA) shall be carried
out during time limited closure of Runway 09-27, the details of work activities have
been enumerated in Annexure 1.
1.2.1 Runway 09-27 is not available for landing and take-off from 18th April 2024 to 15th July
2024, daily, between 1630 UTC to 0030 UTC.
1.2.3 Runway 09-27 shall not be available for emergency landings and diversions during the
closure.
1.3 All works / construction activities, within the runway strip between 105m up to 140m
from centre line of runway 09/27 has been enumerated in Annexure 2.
1.3.1 The work activities planned will be carried out on watch and ward basis, H24, from
1630 UTC of 18th April 2024 up to 0030 UTC of 30th October 2024.
1.4 Annexure I – Work activities on portion of runway strip (up to 105m from centre line
of runway 09-27),
1.4.1 Refer part -1 for construction of portion of 02 new (entry / exit) taxiways (proposed
designation P1 and P3) from edge of existing full-strength pavement of the runway up
to 105m from runway centre line towards North located at the beginning of runway 09.
1.4.2 Refer part 2 for construction of 01 link taxiway (from edge of existing full-strength
pavement of the runway up to 105 m from runway centre line towards North) located
East of existing taxiway A (proposed designation P6).
1.4.3 Refer part 3 for refurbishment of portion of taxiway A (from edge of existing full-
strength pavement of the runway up to 105 m from runway centre line towards North).
1.4.4 Refer part 4 for upgradation of Runway graded strip from edge of paved runway
shoulder up to 105m towards North & South of centreline runway 09-27.
1.4.5 Refer part 5 for Construction of emergency road and fire approach road towards North
at end of RWY 09-27 and at 100m East of proposed taxiway P6 up to 105m from
runway centre line.
1.5 Annexure-II: Work activities on portion of runway strip (between 105m up to 140m
from centreline of runway 09-27) will be carried out on watch and ward basis, H24,
from 1630 UTC of 18th April 2024 to 0030 UTC of 30th October 2024.
1.5.1 Refer Part 1 for Construction of 02 no. of entry / exit taxiways (proposed designation
P1 and P3) and 01 link taxiway (proposed designation P6) for portion of taxiways
falling within runway strip beyond 105 m up to 140m from centre line of runway 09-
27 (in Zone-2 and zone-3).
1.5.3 Refer part 3 for aeronautical ground lights (AGL) related works such as:
1.5.4 Refer part 4 for Construction emergency road and fire approach road at 100m East of
proposed taxiway P6 between 105m and 140m from runway centreline.
1.5.5 Refer Part 5 for refurbishment of portion of taxiway A from 105m up to 140m towards
North of centreline runway 09-27.
2. Any change to the contents of this AIP Supplement will be notified through NOTAM.
1. Runway 09-27 not available for landing and take-off from 18th April 2024 to 15th July
2024 (except on 1st May 2024 due Labor Day) daily, between 1630 UTC to 0030 UTC
for work activities on portion of runway strip up to 105m from centreline for runway
09-27 and on RESA.
1.1.1 Work shall be carried out during time limited closure of runway 09-27 (Refer Sl No 1
above).
1.1.3 The location of work area is from edge of existing full-strength pavement of the runway
towards North. Distance of the work area from edge of the runway up to 105m from
centreline of runway.
1.1.4 Approximately 150mm level difference shall exist during construction of the pavement.
1.1.5 Compliant slope for ramp is provided between the existing runway surface and newly
constructed surface of shoulder / portion of taxiway.
1.1.6 Level difference between existing and newly laid surface will be backfilled by laying
sandbags up to top level.
1.1.8 The work area shall be marked and lighted by placing unserviceability / obstruction
light for easy identification.
1.1.9 Refer chart-1 for location of work area for construction of 02 entry / exit taxiways at
the beginning of runway 09.
1.2 Part 2: Construction of portion of link taxiway (proposed designation P6) from
edge of existing full-strength pavement of the runway up to 105m from centre line
1.2.1 Work shall be carried out during time limited closure of runway 09-27 (Refer Sl No 1
above).
1.2.3 Location of work area is from edge of existing full-strength pavement of the runway
and towards North. Distance of the work area from edge of the runway up to 105m from
centreline of runway.
1.2.4 Approximately 150mm level difference shall exist during construction of the pavement.
1.2.5 Compliant slope for ramp is provided between the existing runway and newly
constructed surface of portion of taxiway.
1.2.6 Level difference between existing and newly laid surface will be backfilled by laying
sandbags up to top level.
1.2.8 The work area shall be marked and lighted by placing unserviceability / obstruction
light for easy identification.
1.2.9 Refer Chart - 2 for location of work area for construction of entry / exit (link taxiway)
(proposed designation P6) located at a distance of 554m East of taxiway A.
1.3.1 Taxiway A is not available for taxiing of aircraft from 18th April 2024 to 15th July 2024,
daily, between 1630 UTC to 0030 UTC.
1.3.2 Construction work activity for refurbishment of portion of taxiway A shall be carried
out during time limited closure of runway 09-27 (Refer Sl. No 1 above).
1.3.3 Taxiway closure marking and unserviceability / obstruction lights (at every 3m) across
the width of taxiway shall be deployed for indicating the closure of taxiway A.
1.3.4 Pilot(s) operating to and from UP state Apron / hangar shall coordinate with ATC for
taxiing instructions. Follow Me service shall be available on request.
1.3.5 Work for refurbishment of portion of taxiway A shall be undertaken from edge of
runway up to 105m from centre line of runway and towards North of runway 09-27.
1.3.6 Refer Chart -3 for location of work area of refurbishment of portion of taxiway A.
1.4.1 Work for upgradation on graded strip of runway 09-27 shall be carried out during time
limited closure of runway 09-27 (Refer Sl No 1 above).
1.4.2 Approximately 150 - 200mm level difference shall exist during upgradation of Runway
grading strip.
1.4.3 The level difference between existing top surface of strip and excavated surface will be
backfilled by laying sandbags.
1.4.4 Refer Chart - 4 for location of work area of graded strip of runway 09-27.
1.5 Part 5: Construction of portion of fire approach access road connecting with
proposed fire station approximately at a distance 650m East of TWY A and
emergency fire access road at North of RESA of RWY 09-27 to provide connection
with runway and perimeter road.
1.5.1 Work shall be carried out during the time limited closure of runway 09-27 (Refer Sl.
No 1 above).
1.5.2 Location of work area for fire approach access road from edge of shoulder of runway
towards North from edge of the paved runway shoulder up to 105m from centre line of
runway.
1.5.3 The emergency fire access road connecting runway and perimeter road is clear of
declared dimensions of RESA for runway 09 towards North located at a distance of
52m from extended centre line of runway.
1.5.4 The emergency fire access road connecting runway and perimeter road is clear of
declared dimensions of RESA for runway 27 towards North located at a distance of
50m from extended centre line of runway.
1.5.6 Level difference between existing and newly laid surface will be backfilled by laying
sandbags up to top level.
1.5.8 The work area shall be marked and lighted by placing unserviceability / obstruction
light for easy identification.
1.5.9 Refer Chart - 5 for location of work area for portion of fire approach access road
connecting with proposed fire station approximately at a distance 650m East of TWY
A and emergency fire access road at North of RESA of 09-27.
Note: Construction works activity located beyond 140m from centre line of runway
(out of runway strip) and work activities which do not have any impact on aircraft
operations are not considered for promulgation in AIP Supplement.
1.1.1 Construction work will be carried out for 03 new taxiways (proposed designations P1,
P3 and P6). (Refer Sl. No 1 above).
1.1.2 The illumination of the work area during the night shall be done by deploying portable
lights which shall be facing downwards to avoid glare to the Pilots.
1.1.3 The work area and deployed machinery will be marked and lighted as per DGCA CAR
4B1.
1.1.4 Machinery deployed shall remain clear of Obstacle Free Zone (OFZ) of runway 09/27.
1.1.5 Refer Chart – 1 and chart 2 for location of work area for construction of 02 entry / exit
taxiways at the beginning of runway 09 and 01 Link Taxiway respectively.
1.2 Part 2: Grading of runway strip from 105m up to 140m from runway centre line
at North and South of runway 09-27 will be carried out on watch and ward basis.
(Refer Sl. No 1 above).
1.2.2 Compliant slope will be provided in the graded and leveled portion of runway strip and
will be merged with the slope of existing runway strip.
1.2.4 The work area and deployed machinery will be marked and lighted as per DGCA CAR
4B1.
1.2.5 Machinery deployed shall remain clear of Obstacle Free Zone (OFZ) of runway 09/27.
1.2.6 Refer Chart -4 for location of work area of graded strip of runway.
1.3 Part 3: AGL Duct bank & Associate chambers work at 105m from runway centre
line at North & South of runway 09-27. (Refer Sl. No 1 above).
1.3.1 Construction of AGL Duct bank & Associate chambers works shall be carried out.
1.3.2 The illumination of the work area during the night shall be done by deploying portable
lights which shall be facing downwards to avoid glare to the Pilots.
1.3.3 The work area and deployed machinery will be marked and lighted as per DGCA CAR
4B1.
1.3.4 Machinery deployed shall remain clear of Obstacle Free Zone (OFZ) of runway 09/27.
1.3.5 Refer Chart -6 for location of work area of AGL Duct bank & associate chambers.
1.4 Part 4: Emergency fire approach road from 105m up to 140m from runway
centreline at North of runway 09-27 carried out on watch and ward basis from
1630 UTC of 18th April 2024 up to 0030 UTC 15th July 2024, H24.
1.4.2 Compliant slope of ramp is provided between the existing and newly constructed
surface.
1.4.3 The illumination of the work area during the night shall be done by deploying portable
lights which shall be facing downwards to avoid glare at the Pilots.
1.4.4 The work area and deployed machinery will be marked and lighted as per DGCA CAR
4B1.
1.4.5 Machinery deployed shall remain clear of Obstacle Free Zone (OFZ) of runway 09/27.
1.4.6 Refer Chart -5 for location of work area of Emergency & fire approach road.
1.5 Part 5: Refurbishment of taxiway A from 105m to 140m from runway centreline
at North of runway 09-27 will be carried out from 18th April 2024 to 15th July 2024,
daily, between 1630 UTC to 0030 UTC.
1.5.2 Taxiway A shall be available for operations on 1st May 2024 (Wednesday), on the
