If you know that Contract Duration = 15 days, you B 5 --
are requested to do the following: C 6 A
1. Draw AON Network. E 3 A&B
2. Calculate the project early finish. F 8 A&B
3. Highlight and write the critical path(s). G 5 B
4. Calculate the four times, total float and free float H 2 E&C
for each activity. I 1 E&G

QUESTION 4
For the shown network:
a. Calculate the early and late times, total
float and free float for the activities of
the project shown and mark the critical
path.
b. If the project starts February 1st, 2021
(Monday). Prepare a bar chart for the
project, based on early dates, showing
the total floats of activities and marking
the critical path. Tabulate the early and
late dates as calendar dates. Consider
holidays to be Fridays of each week,
and February 2nd and February 15th.
c. If the project’s contractual completion is constrained to finish on February 16th , what would
the effect be on the total floats of the project?
d. Critically evaluate your decisions as a project manager, in the case of project completion on
February 16th.
QUESTION 5
A steel frame project is to be constructed to cover an area of 22 X 60 m. the frame span is 22 m and
spaced at 5.0 m. (Figure 1). The project is founded on isolated footing and consists of steel frame,
purlins, and gladding (covering sheets).

• Prepare a suitable complete schedule for the project using:
1. Bar chart.
2. Activity on Node.
The schedule should permit overlapping between successive activities to get the minimum project
duration.
Dr. Yasser Elfahham Page 2 of 3
You can use the following rates and productivities of labor and equipment to estimate activities’
durations:
1. Footing: 6 footings / day.
2. Steel frame: 2 frames / day.
3. Purlins: 1 bay / day.
4. Gladding: 2 bays / day.
• Calculate the calendar days of activities and draw bar chart based on activity early dates, given
the following data:
- Project start date is Wednesday, 1 April 2020.
- Friday is the weekend.
- Period from 15 April to 18 April is non-working period.
- 25 April is a holiday.
- 12 April is an exception.
