NOTIFICATION

Applications are invited for Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), Paper - I and
Paper - II only from the eligible working Teachers who are appointed on or
before 01.09.2025 as SGT, BT Assistant and other Equivalent cadre Teachers
on Time Scale/Consolidated/Part-time pay under the Directorate of School
Education / Directorate of Elementary Education / Most Backward Class
Department / Adi-Dravida Welfare Department / Tribal Welfare Department /
Chennai Corporation / Coimbatore Corporation / Madurai Corporation / Forest
Department / Differently Abled Department / Other Departments, Government,
Government Aided and Unaided Recognized Private Schools of State Board and
Other Boards etc., in Tamil Nadu for the year 2025 through online mode only
till 20.12.2025.

2. Eligibility to Write Teacher Eligibility Test for Inservice Teachers (2025)


Currently working Teachers who are appointed on or before 01.09.2025
as SGT, BT Assistant and other equivalent cadre Teachers on Time
Scale/Consolidated/Part-time pay of schools in Tamil Nadu.

3. Educational Qualification for Paper-I and Paper-II:


1. Teacher Eligibility Test for Inservice Teachers shall be conducted
to the Secondary Grade Teachers / Special Teachers / Physical Education
Teachers / BT Assistants / BRTEs / Other equivalent cadre posts and the
Special Education Teachers (IEDSS) who are working on Time
scale/Consolidated/Part-time of pay under the Government and
Government Aided Schools.
2. Also, the Secondary Grade Teachers / Special Teachers / Physical
Education Teachers / BT Assistant Teachers working under self – finance
unit of Aided Schools and Unaided Recognized Private Schools are eligible
for this Teacher Eligibility Test.
3. The Educational qualifications defined under the Special Rules for
the Tamil Nadu School Educational Subordinate Services and mentioned in
the G.O.(Ms).No.13,School Education [SE3(1)] Department,
dated:30.01.2020 for the Secondary Grade Teachers / Special Teachers /
Physical Education Teachers / BT Assistants / BRTEs / Other equivalent
cadre posts; the educational qualifications for the Special Education

Teachers (IEDSS) mentioned in the G.O.(Ms).No.144,School Education
[SE3(2)] Department, dated:17.06.2025; the educational qualifications
defined under the Special Rules for the Tamil Nadu Elementary Education

5. Examination Fee:
i. The Examination fee is Rs.600/- for each application for all the candidates
except SC, SCA, ST and Differently Abled Persons. For SC, SCA, ST and
Differently Abled Persons the examination fee for each application is Rs.
300/-. Since the examination fee for each application is different for various
categories, candidates are advised to enter the correct Community /
Category of Disability. Once the payment is made, it will not be refunded.
ii. Separate applications have to be submitted for Paper-I and Paper-II along
with separate fees.
iii. SMS alert regarding successful payment will be sent to the registered
mobile number of the candidate.
iv. Online payment to be made only through Payment Gateway. (Net banking
/ Credit Card / Debit Card)
v. Offline payments in any form, including Demand Draft /Postal order etc.,
will not be accepted.
vi. Failure to pay the prescribed fee on time along with the online application
will result in rejection of the application after due process.
vii. Fee remitted shall not be refunded or adjusted for future test / examination
under any circumstances.
viii. If a candidate pays the fee for more than one time the amount will not be
refunded.

Note:
i. Candidates who have secured the marks as above in the Paper-I /
Paper-II will be issued with Teacher Eligibility Test Paper-I / Paper-II
Eligibility Certificate respectively.
ii. If the claim of the candidate is found to be incorrect,
the TET certificate for Inservice Teachers will become invalid.
7. Written Examination:
i. The date, time and centre for the Written Examination will be given in the
Hall Ticket. The Hall Tickets for the eligible candidates will be uploaded by
the TRB on its official website. The candidates are advised to refer to the
Teachers Recruitment Board’s Website ([Link] and
download the Hall Tickets separately.
ii. Hall tickets shall not be sent to the candidates separately.
iii. No written communication will be sent to the candidate individually.
iv. The decision of the Teachers Recruitment Board on the eligibility of the
candidate to appear for the examination will be final.

8. Scribes:
Differently Abled candidates / Visually Impaired candidates / eligible
Orthopedically Impaired candidates will be allowed assistance of scribes based on
the claims made in the online applications and submission of Disability Certificate
/ Medical Board Certificate.

9. Examination Results:
The Qualified list of Candidates in Teacher Eligibility Test Paper – I and
Paper – II will be published in the website of Teachers Recruitment Board viz.

10. Centre for Examination:
Examination will be held in all districts. The details of examination centre
will be given in the hall ticket. Candidates should appear for the examination at
their own expenses. The Board reserves the right to increase or decrease the
number of examination centres and to re-allot the candidates for administrative
reasons.
11. How to Apply:
i. Candidates should apply only through online mode in the TRB website
([Link] No other mode of application will be
entertained.
ii. Use separate application for Paper-I and Paper-II with separate fees.
iii. Candidates must upload the Service Certificate as given
Annexure – I without fail.
iv. Candidates should keep ready their scanned recent colour passport size
photograph (Jpg/Jpeg/Png format of size 20-60 KB) and signature
(Jpg/Jpeg/Png format of size 10-30 KB) separately. The candidates should
upload their photo image and signature while applying online. The online
application uploaded without the candidate’s photograph,
signature, Service Certificate and defective applications will be
summarily rejected. No correspondence in this regard will be
entertained.
v. These certificates should be uploaded in Jpg/Jpeg/Png format of
size 60-120 KB.

vi. A valid e-mail id and Mobile Number are mandatory for registration and
e-mail id should be kept active till the declaration of results as all future
communication will be sent to the registered mobile number and registered
email id only.
vii. All the particulars mentioned in the online application including name of the
candidate, Test Paper applied, communal category, date of birth, address
and all other fields will be considered as final. Candidates are requested to
fill the online application form with utmost care and caution as no
correspondence regarding change of details will be entertained. Incomplete
or defective applications shall be summarily rejected.
viii. The online application can be submitted till 20.12.2025 after that the
Online link will be disabled.
ix. Candidates have to go through all the instructions thoroughly and fill up the
application carefully and upload the documents. Candidates are fully
responsible for the details given in the online application and documents
submitted along with the application.

12. Uploading the documents / certificates:


Candidates should upload the required Documents / Certificates for
proof in respect of all the claims made in the application with reference to
this Notification at the time of submission of Online application itself. If the
following required Documents / Certificates are not uploaded by the
Candidates, while applying, his / her application will be rejected after due
process:

13. Action against candidates found guilty of misconduct:

Candidates are warned that they should not furnish false particulars or
suppress any material information while filling the application form. Candidates
are also warned that they should in no case attempt to alter or otherwise
tamper with any entry in a document or submit details based on tampered/
fabricated document. If there is any inaccuracy or any discrepancy, in the
application form, it will not be considered.

Without prejudice to criminal action/ debarment from writing TRB's


examination wherever necessary, candidature will be summarily cancelled at
any stage of the process in respect of candidates found to have indulged in any
of the following:

i. In possession of mobile phone & accessories, Bluetooth devices and


other electronic gadgets within the premises of the Examination
Centres, whether in use or in switched off mode and in person or
otherwise.

ii. Involved in malpractices.
iii. Using unfair means in the examination hall.
iv. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
v. Obtaining support for his/ her candidature by any means.
vi. Impersonate/procuring impersonation by any person.
vii. Submitting fabricated documents or documents which have been
tampered with.
viii. Making statements which are incorrect or false or suppressing material
information.
ix. Resorting to any other irregular or improper means in connection with
his/ her candidature for the examination.
x. Misbehaving in any manner in the examination hall with the Supervisor,
Invigilator or TRB's representatives.
xi. Intimidating or causing bodily harm to the staff employed by the TRB
for the conduct of examination.
xii. Candidature can also be cancelled at any stage of the examination
process for any other ground which the TRB considers to be sufficient
cause for cancellation of candidature.

14. Declaration Regarding Criminal Cases (Or) Disciplinary Cases:


(i) Candidates who have declared pending criminal or disciplinary cases
in their online application, must upload the copy of First Information
Report (FIR) or memorandum of charges / show cause notice, as the
case may be. Failure to upload such papers along with online
application, shall result in rejection of candidature after due process.

(ii) Candidates who have declared conviction in criminal cases or


punishment in disciplinary cases, in their online application, must
upload the relevant Court orders and / or release orders or
memorandum of proceedings, as the case may be, along with online
application. Failure to upload such papers, shall result in rejection of
candidature after due process.

(iii) In case of any criminal case filed / disciplinary action taken against

or conviction / punishment imposed on a candidate after submission
of the online application at any stage of the recruitment process
before the completion of entire selection process, such candidates
should report this fact to the Teachers Recruitment Board in the next
immediate stage. Failure to comply with these instructions shall
result in rejection of candidature after due process and debarment
for a period of one year.

Any violation of instruction therein will result in rejection


of application and cancellation of his / her candidature after
due process.
15. General Information:

a. The candidates who does not possess the prescribed qualifications,


as on the date of notification are not eligible to apply.
b. The candidates should satisfy themselves about their eligibility
before applying. It is to be noted that if a candidate is allowed to
appear for the examination it does not imply that the eligibility of
the candidate is verified.
c. Teachers Recruitment Board reserves right to disqualify any
candidate who attended Teacher Eligibility Test Inservice without
NCTE prescribed Education Qualification.
d. Incomplete applications and applications containing false claims or
incorrect particulars relating to category of reservation, basic
qualifications and other eligibility criteria will be liable for rejection
and criminal action will be initiated against the candidate.
e. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification for test
/examination.
f. In the matter of test /examination, the decision of the Teachers
Recruitment Board is final.
g. A Pass in Teacher Eligibility Test Examination (Inservice) cannot be
claimed as right for employments as Teacher Eligibility Test is only
Eligibility Test.

h. The Teachers Recruitment Board shall not be responsible or liable
for any loss that may be caused to any applicant on account of
indulging in any sort of dealings with unscrupulous elements.
i. Candidates are solely responsible for their claims made in the Online
application and cannot blame service providers like Internet cafes /
Browsing centres / Common service centres for the mistakes made
while filling up the applications through Online. Candidates are
advised to check the filled in Online application along with required
documents and ensure its correctness before finally submitting the
same. TRB will not take any responsibility for any mistakes.
j. The Candidates shall mandatorily upload the certificates / documents
(in support of all the claims made / details furnished in the Online
application) at the time of submission of Online application itself. It
shall be ensured by the Candidates that the Online application shall
not be submitted without uploading the required certificates /
documents.
k. Candidates are directed to read and follow all the information /
instructions / guidelines given in this notification, the Board’s
“Instructions to Candidates” ([Link] and in
the online application before applying for this test / examination.
Clarification, if any, may be obtained over phone (1800 425 6753)
or by an email (trbgrievances@[Link]) well ahead of the last date
for submission of Online application.
l. Any representation and query relating to the notification or other issues
may be clarified by sending mail to the following e-mail id only:

16. Last date for submission of filled in application forms:
The last date for submission of filled-in Application Forms through online
mode is till 20.12.2025. After that the online link will be disabled.
