1.Purpose/ Objective
Boiler water treatment is used to control alkalinity, prevent scaling, correct pH, and to control
conductivity. The main objectives to treat and condition boiler water is to exchange heat without
scaling, protect against scaling, and produce high quality steam
2.Scope
This Procedure is applicable to Boiler & Steam water sampling in Boiler 22mtr & SWAS room (TG 0mtr)
at 600MW unit of Jhabua Power Ltd. (JPL).
3.Responsibility

6.2. Sampling
6.2.A. Sampling from Boiler (22 Mtr)
(i) Samples are to be collected manually from Boiler 22 Mtr. in four hourly basis. (twice
in Shift)
(ii) In order to get sample, charged sampling line from sampling station boiler (22 Mtr.).
(iii) After identifying the Charged sampling line, Samplers will open the sampling valve of sampling
pipe for flushing the water lying in the pipe, and it is rinsing with 2 to 3 times.
(iv) After flushing of water sampling line from Sampling valve, PVC sampling bottle is Placed below
sampling valve for sample collection.
(v) After getting water sample from charged sampling water line to its identified water sampling
bottle, mouth of the bottle is properly closed with lead to avoid any contamination.
(vi) This process of sample collection is carried out for all charged water sampling lines.
(vii) Again sampling process is repeated for all charged sampling line for next four hour and this
process is carried out 6 times in a day.
6.2.B. Sampling from SWAS room TG 0 Mtr
(i) Samples are to be collected manually from SWAS room TG 0 Mtr. in four hourly basis.
(twice in Shift)
(ii) Method-2: Make the circuit breaker open (off) from electrical supply feeder in MCC to stop the
pump.
(iii) After identifying the Charged sampling line (display in SWAS room), Samplers will open the
sampling valve of sampling pipe for flushing the water lying in the pipe. an d it is rinsing with 2
to 3 times.
(iv) After flushing of water sampling line from Sampling valve, PVC sampling bottle is Placed below
sampling valve for sample collection.
(v) After getting water sample from charged sampling water line to its identified water sampling
bottle, mouth of the bottle is properly closed with lid to avoid any contamination.
(vi) This process of sample collection is carried out for all charged water sampling lines.
(vii) Again sampling process is repeated for all charged sampling line for next four hour and this
process is carried out 6 times in a day.
