Fire extinguishing command FMZ 4100

Preface

Dear Customer:

Having acquired the FMZ 4100 control panel for controlling protection against
fires, you have decided on a reliable, sensitive security system,
approved by the Association of Insurers of Goods and Equipment (VdS) that
stands out for the following characteristics of early warning in case of occurring a
fire: To put you on notice and, if desired, also to the firefighters,
activate programmed systems for alarm cases and put into operation the
fire extinguisher installation. The technology and engineering that support the systems
MINIMAX electronics are so advanced that it is highly unlikely that they
produce false alarms and incorrect reactions from this command system for the
fire extinguishing.

The operators handling the extinguishing command must be only people.

properly instructed in accordance with DIN VDE 0833 regulations, as everything
improper management can have fatal consequences if it occurs
fire. To ensure the reliability and full operational capacity of
the extinguisher installation, it is necessary for maintenance work to be carried out and
conservation required by the aforementioned DIN VDE 0833 regulation. In addition to that
We emphasize the instructions that emanate from the mutualities.
occupational accident insurers (BG) and the Association of Insurers of
Goods and Equipment (VdS).

Finally, we must also point out that for technical security reasons you
must take all appropriate measures that contribute to minimizing the
dangers of unauthorized or improper use, as well as false alarms attributable to
magnitudes that can induce them (e.g. humidity, vapor, smoke, pollution
atmospheric, etc.).

1 Introducción

The fire extinguishing control panel includes all components for detection of
fires and the control of a firefighting installation. All detections are
visualized through light-emitting diodes on its own front panel, and
additionally on the LC display and through the collective luminous diodes of the
FMZ4100.

Light-emitting diodes have three modes of operation:

1. Continuous light;
2. Blinking LT1 (1/4 sec. on, 3/4 sec. off);
3. Blinking LT2 (3/4 sec. on, 1/4 sec. off);

The tables in chapter 6 include the standardized assignment of the LEDs to the
different modes of operation.
For the operation of the extinguishing control panel, its front panel includes eight
buttons. All operational processes are carried out through them,
except for the lamp test. However, there are certain operational processes, such as
e.g. the replacement of fire detectors, and in connection with it the enabling
from the main detector, or the replacement of a previous alarm, which can be carried out
also through the LCD operation panel or the fire operation panel.

2 Indicator signs

The LEDs on the front panel of the extinguishing control have been assigned a large number of
functions. This chapter aims to present the user with a clear exposition and
understandable from the indicator signs.

LEDs operate with two different blinking rates (LT1 and LT2) and with light.
continue. In this regard, it is possible to make, in general, the divisions
next:
∙Brief ignition (LT1): There is a fault (in case of red LED, a prior alarm);
Prolonged ignition (LT2): A fire, activation, or
acting
Continuous light: A deactivation is being signaled.

2.1 Fire / Pre-alarm

The fire detections or prior alarms from the groups of detectors are
indicated by the following LEDs:
-H1 for group 1 of the automatic detectors,
-H3 for group 2 of the automatic detectors,
-H5 for group 3 of the automatic detectors,
-H7 for group 4 of the automatic detectors,
-H9 for group 3 of the contact detectors (group of detectors for
manual operation by push button) and if applicable
-H19 for group 1 of the contact detectors (if configured)
as a group of detectors for manual operation by pushbutton.

The prior alarms are indicated by flashing lights at the rhythm of

LT1 blinking. If a pre-alarm equipment was set up for a command group,
that command group is activated upon receiving the prior alarm, and in turn will be
flashing with the LT2 cadence the corresponding LED (see also 2.6).
Fire detections are indicated by flashing at the cadence
LT2. If the fire detection must result in the activation of the sequence
extinction, more visual indicators are produced through the LEDs, the
that are described in section 2.7.
The visual indicator of the previous alarm does not disappear (but is retained)
when later other fire detections arrived, coming from other groups,
even though these last ones become a main fire alarm.

2.2 Deactivation
Deactivations are indicated by the status permanently
LED light for corresponding faults:
Group of detectors/LED: 1/H2 - 2/H4 - 3/H6 - 4/H8 - Detector manual/
H10; - in your case Manual detector/H20;
Command group/LED: 1/H11 - 2/H12 - 3/H13 - 4/H14;
Extinction delay: H18;
Second extinction or selection
of main and reserve operation: H20.

FHB151es/01-1095a /TB lt-nb Operating Manual Page 6

Fire Extinguishing Handheld FMZ 4100

The command groups, the extinction delay, and the second extinction or selection
main and backup operation can be put out of service
only through the deactivation of the entire extinction zone.

2.3 Fault Detection

Any fault detection (conductor interruption and short circuit) is
indicated by the blinking at the LT1 cadence of the corresponding LED:

Group of detectors/LED: 1/H2 - 2/H4 - 3/H6 - 4/H8 - Manual detector/H10 - In your

manual detector case/H20;
Control group/LED: 1/H11 - 2/H12 - 3/H13 - 4/H14
Extinction delay: H18;
Second extinction or selection main and reserve operation: H20;
CPU malfunction: H22 continuous conclusion.

2.4 Control of the extinguishing agent

The leaks of the extinguishing agent are indicated as failure (leak of the extinguishing agent)
through the blinking of the LED H16 with the cadence LT1.

A warning is also displayed on the LC display, and the LED is activated.

of collective breakdowns.

2.5 Download of extinguishing agent in the non-activated area

indicated by the blinking of the LED H16 with the cadence LT2. The cause of this may
for example, the manual shot fired in the bottle battery. On the LC display
the message 'Flood without activation' appears indicated with the priority level of
fire, and at the same time the main fire alarm LED is activated.
In addition, the main relays for collective fire and extinguishing are activated in
the central card for relays.

through the blinking of the corresponding LED with the LT2 cadence and a notification
(other priority) reflected in the LC display.

2.7 Extinction
If a main fire alarm has been triggered (once verified the
configured dependencies) the extinction will begin by activating the groups of
remote control of those devices that require such activation immediately, that is to say

LT1. Once the extinction time is over, the blinking cadence changes to LT2.

If the entry of the extinguishing agent into the area is monitored by a pressure switch
alarm, the corresponding confirmation notice will be produced and the LED H16 will be
blinking with the cadence LT2.

2.8 Extinction delay (carbon dioxide stop)

If the delay button was pressed, the LED H17 starts to blink with the
cadence LT2.

In case of acting outside the prior warning time, this situation will be
interpreted as false or erroneous performance (failure) and will remain on the LC display
reflected the message 'ERROR HANDLING OPERATION for CO2'. The LED H17

with the cadence LT2.

In case of action without prior activation of the extinguishing system, this situation
it will be interpreted as a wrongful act (failure) and it will remain on the LC display
reflected the message 'ERROR HANDLING OPERATION second extinction'. The
LED H19 will be blinking with the LT1 cadence.

If the card has been taken to verification mode (review), it is indicated by the
LED H21 blinking with the LT2 cadence. In case a fire alarm is received.
during the activated review mode, no termination will occur, more
well just a warning alert. The LED H15 will change directly from continuous light to the
blinking cadence LT2.

2.12 CPU Failure

Due to a failure or error in the processor of the extinguishing control card,
the 'watchdog' circuit is responsible for stopping the further development of the program. This
The type of fault is indicated by the LED H22, which will be continuously lit.

operation.

3.1 Connect and disconnect a group of detectors

The buttons S1 to S4 are used to connect and disconnect the groups of
automatic detectors, and the S5 button to do the same with the group of
detectors for manual operation.

The LEDs of the disabled groups will be lit with continuous light (see
also 2.2).

3.4 Monitoring of the groups

The groups of automatic detectors, the Zener groups (groups of detectors of
contact) and the command groups are permanently monitored regarding
interruptions of conducting threads, short circuits, and alarms. When there is a
fault, this situation is displayed on the LC display of the detector central
fires, and the LED for faults in the group of detectors will be blinking with the
cadence LT1.
Interruption of conductor thread: After the fault is removed, it will remain

Short circuit: After the fault is removed, the signal is
reestablished when the S7 button is pressed to

To protect the components from the overload that usually accompanies a

short circuit, the group's current is disconnected as soon as it is

the S8 button. This is indicated by the flashing of the LED H21 with the cadence LT2. If
fire alarms have arrived or if the restocking lock is in place
activated, it is not possible to switch the fire control card to the state of
review.

If the fire suppression control panel is in the review state, I don't know
no initiation of any extinction will occur, as the command groups will not be activated either for the

alarm for the abandonment of the premises, so it can no longer be disconnected to
through the function 'External acoustic signals disconnected.'

4.3 Reposición
If a reset is performed on the LCD operation panel, this reset takes effect

alarm for the abandonment of the premises, so that it can no longer be disconnected
through the function "External acoustic signals disconnected."

5.2 Restocking
If a replacement is carried out in the firefighters' operation panel, this
replacement has an effect on the fire detection of the control boards of
extinction. This fact does not affect the development of command operations. If they enter
new fire detections, the new start of the sequence will not occur
