Extra's Death: I Am the Son of Hades C693: Obitus’ Authority Chapter 693:

Obitus’ Authority
”At Stage 2,” she began, lifting her chin as if rehearsing a list she had been
preparing in her head for some time, ”I awakened [Dimensional Shift]. It lets
me freely distort and control the surrounding space.
”I also awakened [Death Mirror], which lets me reflect curses and soul attacks
back at whoever uses them.”
Neo’s brows rose. ”That’s quite good.”
Obitus gave a satisfied little nod.
”I know.”
She was obviously pleased by his reaction but wasn’t about to let it show too
much.
”And then, at Stage 3, I awakened [Reincarnation Binding]. It allows me to
’tag’ an enemy soul. If they’re killed, that soul can’t reincarnate or reform until
either I or you release it.”
Neo frowned slightly, tapping his finger against his arm. ”That’s... a terrifying
ability.”
”Terrifying for them,” she corrected, almost smug.
”Right,” Neo muttered. Then he tilted his head. ”What about your blade form?
Didn’t one of your older skills evolve?”
He could see her information when she connected to Heavenly Records, so he
knew about it.
She pouted, seeing he was spoiling the fun.
Neo realized his mistake, and coughed, ”Continue.”
”Yes. My [Formless Blade] evolved into [Formless Infinity]. It was because of
this ability that I could reach the Cosmos Core of your Cosmos.”
Neo paused, the words hitting him harder than he expected. ”Cosmos Core...”
For a moment, he drifted into his thoughts.
He had almost forgotten about that.
His Cosmos Core was supposed to be the Primordial Cosmos Core.
But the last time he visited, he remembered it being called something else:
Primordial Chaos Cosmos Core
.
Why had the name changed?
His mind tightened around the thought.

1
It wasn’t something he could ignore forever.
He needed to check, but not now.
He suppressed the restless curiosity, forcing his focus back when he noticed
Obitus staring at him, her lips pressing into a faint pout that was growing more
accusing by the second.
She had realized he wasn’t paying attention.
Neo cleared his throat. ”So, what did you awaken at Stage 4?”
Her pout disappeared immediately, replaced by excitement.
”At Stage 4, I awakened three new abilities.”
She spoke proudly, savoring each word.
”The first is [Sword Legion]. It lets me manipulate any blade in the surrounding
area by injecting my will into them.”
”That’s quite useful. It can also be used as a detector to find enemies with a
blade hiding in our surroundings.” Neo nodded slowly. ”And the second ability?”
”[Oblivion Bloom]. It lets me create my own domain. It’s similar to a God’s
[World].”
”Oh? That’s surprisingly nice.”
[World] was crucial at higher ranks.
Without one, a person’s strength was never complete.
Worlds didn’t just boost strength, they also limited the range of abilities inside,
making every attack more focused and potent.
More importantly, a World isolated the battlefield.
That prevented collateral damage, which was more than necessary.
Just one swing from a Stage 4 God could tear apart everything around them,
even space and time.
Fighting without containment would be as dangerous to the user as to the
enemy.
Imagine fighting where each step you take destroys the floor and causes your
foot to sink in it.
That was what would happen to high-ranking Gods if they fought without using
Worlds.
This problem could be overcome with high control of ability, but such level of
control was rare.
”What about the third ability?”

2
Obitus’s expression faltered for the first time.
She hesitated, as though unsure how to phrase what she was about to say.
”That... it’s a strange ability. It doesn’t feel like a technique, and it doesn’t feel
like something that came from my species either.”
Neo studied her carefully. ”What do you mean?”
Her voice dropped slightly. ”It’s something else. Something keeps telling me
it’s... a Partial Authority.”
”What?”
Neo froze.
Authority.
The word alone struck like a shockwave.
Only Demons and Witches had Authority.
That was an iron rule of the Cosmos.
So how could Obitus—?
His thoughts spun.
Then another detail clicked.
Soul Spirit Weapons were modeled after demons.
Since that was true, maybe it wasn’t impossible.
Maybe all Spirit Weapons could, in theory, awaken an Authority.
But... a Partial Authority?
Obitus seemed uneasy under his silence.
”I know only Witches and Demons should have them,” she said quickly. ”And
I know Authorities are supposed to be powerful. But mine is weak. It’s called
[End].”
She frowned, looking down at her hands.
”All it does is erode things slowly. It causes them to... die. That’s it. It’s like
Death element.”
Her tone carried a nervous edge.
She knew her Authority wasn’t impressive.
Her lips trembled faintly.
It could be said that the entire reason she was created was for an Authority.
But...

3
’My Authority can’t do anything.’
She was worried Neo might think she was useless.
Even though she knew he would never say anything like that, a part of her
couldn’t hide her anxiousness.
What if....
What if he was also disappointed like Yaleth?
Yaleth was the creator of the Soul Weapons.
He was no different from a father for Obitus.
Although he had tried to hide it, Obitus had seen his disappointment upon
seeing her Authority.
”It’s a good Authority,” Neo spoke firmly.
”But—”
”No.” His voice was firm. ”It’s not weak.
”Also, Gods only start creating their own Elements once they reach Stage 4. It’s
probably the same with you.
”Your Authority is at its beginning. You are only Stage 4.
”The Authority will grow stronger as you do. And besides, simple powers are
often the most dangerous. Don’t confuse simple with weak.”
Her eyes lifted slightly, surprised at how strongly he said it.
Neo held her gaze, his tone calm but firm.
”Even if it doesn’t evolve, even if it stays as it is, it’s not worth you becoming
upset over it.
”It’s just an Authority. I’ve already defeated Demons with Authorities before.
I did it in the Voraka Site too.
”That’s proof that Authorities are nothing special. So stop worrying about
whether yours is enough. Got it?”
Obitus finally looked up.
She met his gaze.

Chapter 694: Homecoming
”That’s proof that Authorities are nothing special. So stop worrying about
whether yours is enough. Got it?”
Obitus finally looked up.
She met his gaze.

4
’Ah...’
His emotions were bare to her.
Every word he said was the truth.
The realization lifted the weight that had been crushing her for centuries.
Even if she doubted herself, he never doubted her.
Her heart felt warm, and a little bitter too. ’Even though I should be the one
supporting him, it’s always him supporting me.’
Neo let the silence linger for a moment, then suddenly added, ”Also, remind me
to meet with Yaleth later.”
Her eyes widened.
She realized instantly what he had read from her thoughts, just as she could
read his.
”N-No, Neo, don’t!” she blurted quickly. ”He encouraged me. He didn’t say
anything bad. You don’t need to punish him!”
”When did I say I was going to punish him? I just want to have a nice, long
talk with him.”
The way he said ”long talk” didn’t sound peaceful at all.
Neo mood soured the more he thought.
He hadn’t forgotten how Yaleth—and Velkaria, for that matter—had tampered
with his Cosmos Core before, putting things inside without his permission.
Back then, he had let it go. Barely.
But now?
Yaleth had confirmed his fate.
This time, Neo wasn’t going to let it slide.
It wasn’t only Yaleth either.
Velkaria had her part in this mess.
And then there was Artemis. The perverted moon had kicked up her share of
trouble.
Neo’s thoughts sharpened at the mention of her, and the sword at his waist
suddenly twitched.
It jumped like a startled cat, as if trying to escape the moment it realized he
had remembered Artemis.
Neo caught the hilt before it could move any further.
His hand held it in place.

5
He looked at Obitus and gave a smile that didn’t reach his eyes.
”Did you enjoy talking about my preferences with Artemis?”
Obitus froze.
Then, she slowly backed away as she spoke, ”N-Neo, I can explain.”
Neo snapped his fingers and she couldn’t move anymore.
Her eyes darted around as though she was considering escape routes, even
though she knew none would help.
Neo’s presence alone ensured that she wasn’t going anywhere.
She could already sense how dangerous this was.
She hadn’t never expected he would know what had happened inside the Cos-
mos.
If she had known he would find out what she and Artemis had been talking
about, she never would have gone along with it.
She definitely wouldn’t have watched those... things.
An idea came to Obitus.
”Yes! It was Artemis!”
”...”
”She was the one who made me talk about it and watch those things! I didn’t
want to!”
Obitus strategically threw Artemis under the bus.
Her tone was almost desperate, as if saying the words fast enough would make
them more believable.
Neo just stared at her.
His silence dragged on, heavy enough to make her fidget.
Finally, he exhaled through his nose and waved a hand, his expression turning
into one of tired resignation.
”I’ll deal with you all later.”
Obitus blinked. She had braced herself for something worse.
”...You won’t punish me?”
Neo’s gaze flicked back to her, sharp enough to make her regret opening her
mouth again.
”Do you want to get punished?”
”W-Well, if it’s a good spanki—”

6
Her words died off mid-sentence as Neo’s eyes narrowed.
The silence after that was suffocating.
Obitus forced herself to keep her head down, pretending she hadn’t said any-
thing.
”Make those stupid jokes again and see what I do next,” Neo said flatly.
He grumbled under his breath. ”That damned perverted moon, she’s made you
just like her.”
”...I’m not as bad as her.” Obitus swallowed and muttered in a barely audible.
”What was that?” Neo’s stare returned to her, sharp as a blade. ”Is that really
what you’re supposed to be saying right now?”
Obitus quickly shook her head.
”...I’m sorry.”
”Tsk. At least you know you were wrong. Younglings these days have no shame.”
Obitus wanted to retort she had seen enough of Neo’s thoughts to know that
his imagination was far more shameless than hers or even Artemis’.
If anything, she could argue he had no right to scold her.
But knowing brave men die first, she wisely kept her mouth shut.
Neo, however, could hear her thoughts.
He ignored them.
He let out a long, audible sigh, one clearly exaggerated enough that she would
notice.
It carried just enough weight to remind her he was displeased.
Obitus fidgeted.
She pretended to study her own hands, hoping he would just let it slide.
But then a small smile tugged at Neo’s lips.
It was brief, almost hidden, but it was there.
Thanks to her, his heart felt lighter, if only a little.
”Go and check your skills,” he told her, his voice back to its usual tone.
She gave a sharp nod and quickly shifted away, sitting on another chair where
she could quietly pull up her system panel.
Neo leaned back against his own seat, the slight tension leaving his shoulders.
His eyes narrowed faintly.

7
’I should check my status screen,’ he thought. ’I should’ve gained new Titles
after everything that happened.’
Without hesitation, he spoke aloud, ”Status.”
...
A few days later.
The silence of space was broken by her excited voice.
”Neo! We’ve reached it!”
Neo’s gaze remained steady on the navigation system.
The ship glided through the darkness, cutting past stars and dust like a blade
through silk.
Obitus pressed her face to the glass.
Her eyes widened as she caught sight of the solar system.
She pointed forward as if he couldn’t already see it.
”It’s been a long time since I’ve met the Youngest. I want to see how he’s
grown.” Her tone softened, and her thoughts drifted to Nullhour Firmament,
the youngest Firmament.
”He isn’t the youngest since quite a while ago.”
”Huh?”
”I’ll tell you about it later.”
Neo’s eyes narrowed as he focused on the view ahead.
The Sky Barrier protecting the solar system shimmered faintly in the distance.
It was the same size Neo had originally designed it to be, but he could tell at a
glance it had been strengthened.
Someone had been upgrading it.
”Oh? Earth has reached Stage 3,” she said, sensing Earth as if the Sky Barrier
was not there.
Neo stopped the ship long before reaching the barrier.
Obitus blinked at him. ”Why are you stopping here?”
Neo stood, stretching his arms as if he’d been waiting for this.
His neck gave a sharp crack as he rolled it side to side.
”What are you doing?” Obitus asked cautiously.
”Going out for a little exercise,” he replied simply.
”...Exercise?”

8
”I want to see how Earth’s defenses are faring.”
”You mean you are going to beat them up.”
”I’m doing an inspection of Earth’s defenses,” Neo corrected her.
”You’re just going to release your stress by taking it out on others,” she shot
back.
Neo didn’t bother denying it this time.
Instead, he gave her a look that said she wasn’t wrong.
His lips curved faintly as he muttered, almost to himself, ”I hope it’s Jack who
comes out to defend Earth.”
Contact - ToS Extra's Death: I Am the Son of Hades C695: Invader Chapter
695: Invader
Neo teleported out of the ship.
He appeared in the silent void just outside the Sky Barrier.
The massive construct shimmered faintly. It was a thin but impenetrable wall
of divine energy spanning the Solar System.
To most, it was an unbreakable shield, the final defense keeping outsiders away.
Neo drifted forward slowly.
He didn’t use any technique, or even Energy.
He pressed his hand gently against the invisible surface.
The barrier reacted instantly.
At first it only rippled, like water disturbed by a pebble.
But as he continued pressing forward, the structure itself began to give way.
Cracks spread out from his palm. Thin fractures formed in every direction.
He moved forward steadily while his arm remained extended, and the barrier
bent inward as though bowing before him.
A sharp tremor ran through the construct.
Its light flickered violently, and then it shattered at the point of contact.
The soundless collapse reverberated across space. Fragments dissolved into
streams of broken energy.
Neo flew through the gap without slowing.
Then he froze.
She was there, waiting for him near Neptune.

9
White hair drifted around her in the void. Her crimson eyes glowed faintly with
an unyielding aura, and her expression was cold.
Her beauty was undeniable, yet there was something heavier about her presence
that made his chest tighten the moment he saw her.
She looked too much like her.
’Amelia,’ he thought, the name ringing in his head before he could stop it.
”Who are you?” Her voice carried no warmth, unable to recognize him.
Neo said nothing.
Her eyes narrowed slightly.
”This sector is under the protection of the Forgotten Suns. If you don’t want to
die, then leave now, rogue God.”
Her words pulled him out of the reminiscence he was going through.
He shook his head faintly, forcing himself to see her properly.
’Stage Five?’
He was surprised.
Becoming a God could lift someone’s rank by three stages.
An Exalted Awakener could become a Stage 5 God.
However, becoming a God at such a high rank required countless years of effort,
patience, and extraordinary luck.
That was why becoming Stage 4 in fifteen thousand years had been considered
a near-impossible record.
’She reached Stage 5 in the time I was gone.’
’Stage 5 in only 15,000 years.’
More than surprise, sadness invaded his heart.
What had Earth gone through in the years he had been absent?
What trials could have forced Amelia to climb so high, so quickly, against the
natural pace of growth?
’I should’ve stayed,’ he thought clenching his fist. ’I should’ve stayed with them.’
Amelia, knowing nothing of his thoughts, simply looked at him with the same
cold detachment.
”If you’re not going to leave, then you will die here, rouge God. Choose.”
She lifted her wrist.
At her gesture, the void around them quivered.

10
Space itself fractured with cracks spiderwebbing outward like glass shattering
under pressure.
Through those cracks came something dreadful.
Blood Sea.
It poured out from the tears in reality, not rushing wildly but moving with
deliberate control.
Rivers of crimson spread through the void, twisting into shapes.
Spears, blades, arrows.
The weapons formed seamlessly from liquid blood, all aimed at him.
”Will you leave, or will you die?”
Neo remained silent.
For a moment it seemed she might wait, but then her gaze sharpened further.
She flicked her fingers and spoke in a calm, steady voice.
”The World.”
The stars and the planets disappeared.
Light bent and reshaped itself until Neo found himself standing on a vast ocean
of blood.
The air, if it could be called that, shimmered red beneath a sky that burned
like dusk.
The stench of iron and rot filled his senses, and beneath the waves of the ocean
he saw movement.
Countless corpses shifted and writhed, trapped forever below the surface.
And behind Amelia, something else appeared.
A figure loomed over her, towering and divine in its proportions.
It was a woman. Something about her felt familiar to Neo.
She looked like a goddess.
She held a sword, its blade cracked and corroded, yet it radiated a presence that
was still regal and terrifying.
Her flesh was decaying, parts of her face eaten away, but even in ruin she looked
every part the deity she had once been.
She had white hairs and hollow red eyes.
Neo’s face hardened.
’She hasn’t forgotten.’

11
How much had she wept for her mother that her figure appeared in Amelia’s
World?
...
Felix POv
”Shit! Shit! Shit!”
Felix’s voice echoed down the wide corridor as he moved through the palace
with quick, urgent steps.
His chest was tight, his breathing was shallow, and the Dragon mark carved
into his arm pulsed like it was alive.
Every throb carried the same message: The invading Stage 5 God was his target.
An Ancient Dragon with the family name Hargraves.
Felix clenched his fists as he hurried.
Earth’s forces weren’t ready for this.
They had defenders, yes, and some of their gods were extremely powerful.
But they were not here at the moment.
And even if they were....
Felix doubted they could handle a Stage 5 Ancient Dragon without facing
tremendous losses.
That was the sort of threat only appeared in legends, defeated only by historical
figures.
Most of those historical figures were dead or they had disappeared.
His thoughts spun faster with every step.
After he’d been given the Dragon Mark, his target appeared out of nowhere.
The timing couldn’t be coincidence.
Was this planned from the start?
Had the Ancient Dragon Hargraves tracked his Dragon Mark?
Was Earth about to be destroyed as part of some scheme they didn’t even
understand?
”If the Ancient Dragons were trying to destroy Earth through this Hargraves,
what is their goal?
”What’s the point in burning Earth down?”
There was no answer.
He shoved them open with both hands and entered the council hall.

12
The vast space was empty compared to usual.
The long table that normally held generals, advisors, and political leaders was
bare.
Only one person sat at the far end, frowning as if she’d already guessed the kind
of news he was carrying.
”Layla,” Felix called, his voice rough. ”I have information about the invading
God.”
She lifted her head. Her red eyes, so much like her family’s, locked on him.
”What is it?”
”He’s an Ancient Dragon. Hargraves. Do you know him?”
She froze for a moment, surprise flickering across her usually controlled expres-
sion.
Hargraves.
It was her family name.
She didn’t say anything immediately, but the silence was enough.
”So he’s not a friend,” Felix muttered, reading her reaction.
He stopped a few steps away and crossed his arms.
”Then we need to move quickly. Contact the Underworld. Ask them to buy
us some time. The Forgotten Suns and Percival are on their way back, but we
need something to hold until then.”
Layla nodded swiftly.
Her Death Element gave her access to Death Element World.
She could deploy her World and call the Grim Reapers to fight in her World.
She bit her lip, and he could see the worry in her eyes.
She didn’t want the Forgotten Suns to come.
The only way to do that was to deal with the invading God quickly.
She reached for the Grim Reaper disciple badge she carried.
The blackened emblem glowed faintly in her palm as she spoke into it.
”Gremory, I need reinforcements.”
There was silence at first. Then a voice answered, but it wasn’t the one she was
expecting.
”We won’t be sending reinforcements.”
Her eyes widened.

13
Felix frowned immediately.
”You are not Gremory,” Layla said quietly.
”It’s me. Agares.”
Rank 3 Grim Reaper, Agares.
