Industrialization
Refers to an economic activity that is concerned with
the production of goods, extraction of minerals and the provision of services. Transformation of agricultural society into manufacturing of goods and services Individual labor is replaced by mechanized mass production
First transformation to industrial economy from an agricultural one Known as Industrial Revolution Took place from mid 18th to early 19th century
Second transformation Known as Second Industrial Revolution Too place in the mid 19th century Refinement of steam engine Innovation of internal combustion engine Invention of assembly line
Placing bulk of tasks on technology and other resources Increasing production to meet the increased population needs Creating more scope for employment Establishing new business and industries Producing large quantities of goods in a short span of time Enabling more productive farming by providing industry made farming supplies, like fertilizer, insecticides Saving human from hazardous work by replacing with machines
Contaminating the air surrounding us
Industrial and manufacturing activities emits lots of smoke and fumes Waste incinerators, manufacturing industries and power plants emits high level of carbon monoxide, organic compounds, and chemicals into air
Petroleum refineries release lots of hydrocarbons into
the air Fumes form car exhaust contains carbon dioxide , monoxide, oxides of nitrogen, hydrocarbon and particles All these elements, create imbalance in the air cycle

Industrialization create many toxic materials Sewerage, industrial waste, fertilizers, and agricultural run off organic and inorganic materials These discharged into water Increase the growth of algae which causes the depletion of oxygen Low oxygen level cant support most indigenous organism Upset the natural ecological balance in the river and lakes

Heavy water consumption for

Industrial waste are the most common cause of soil
pollution
Harmful liquid, chemicals, agricultural pesticides, fertilizers and insecticides are being dumped into soil Oil and fuel dumping also cause soil pollution Excess materials reduce the water absorption capacity
Reduce the capacity of bacteria to breakdown the
chemical waste
Soil pollution would bring alteration in the soil structure Toxic materials cause death of micro organism living in the soil Agricultural food supply is also hampered
All industrial activities emit lots of carbondioxide They also emit Chloro Fluro Carbon gas Increased amount of carbondioxide in the atmosphere Increased CO2 creates a layer in the ozone layer This layer trap the heat coming with the sun light The trapped heat increased the atmospheric temperature
Gradual warming of earth temperature due to

Due to deforestation and other large scale industrial activities, many species have already been extinct. Threatened the extinction of aquatic lives, animals like
polar bears, elephants, tigers etc
Try using "green" cleaning products. Agricultural waste (manure) is utilized as fertilizer Use environmental friendly equipment
