The Eclectic Approach was proposed as
an reaction to the profusion of teaching
methods inthe 1970s and 1980s and the
dogmatism often found in the application
of these methods. The idea of chosing
from different methods to suite for one's
teachng purposes and situations is not a
new one.
WHAT IS ELECTIC APPROACH?
Eclectic method is a combination of
different learning approaches.
Eclectic method of teaching can adjust to
the requirements for achieving the
purpose of teaching without the need to
face many difficulties.
It is the label given to a teacher's use of
techniques and activities from a range of
language teaching approaches and
methodologies.

techniques for his lesson and learners.
Several different teaching methods are
borrowed and adapted to needs and
abilities of learners.
Learners strength and learning style is
always kept in mind.
