Shape Task

Shape Task

Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
The first image, I like how I arranged the grass to over the
bottom of my Rabbit. The benefit of this is I do not have to
create the feet that werent there in the background
image. However, this will not work for every shape task. In
the second image I like how I have explored the warp tool
more, you can see this on the ears.
What would you improve if you did it again?
I could improve a lot on the second image. If I could redo
the image I would give the face more depth and definition
by creating shadows and possible using the warp tool to
shape the face. I would also create a body for the Husky's
head so it doesnt look like its floating.

Rotoscope

Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
i like how I have created Obama nose. I did this by
rotoscoping the highlight and shadow of the the
nose to create the shape. I also like how I did the
hair it give my image more depth.
What would you improve if you did it again?
To improve my image I would redo the badge of
Obama suit as it is clear the badge is not as good
as it I can make it. I would also improve the tie as
it makes the image looked rushed and incomplete.

Film Quotes

Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
I like the font in the GOT film quote. In the second
image I like the simple but professional look.
In the doctor who image I like how I have created a
clipping mask on a plain background to make it
stand out.
What would you improve if you did it again?
Although I like the look of my Film Quote images I would
like to improve them by creating a more difficult look
such as forming the word into a shape of a character.
I would like the text to have make the background image.

Text Based

Text Based

Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
The first image is my first attempt of clipping
mask. I think my image came out good and it was
clear to read and see what image is over the text.
The second image was a experiment, learning how
to manipulate text. I like the fourth text as it is
different and clear.
What would you improve if you did it again?
To improve my second image I would have
explored the technique more and the colours to
create something more interesting.

Comic Book

Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
I like the I have careful gone round the dark
shadows in the image and changed the colour
of each one. I also like how I have made the
background appear more comic like.
What would you improve if you did it
again?
To improve this image I would have explored
the comic effects more as I think the image is
good but very simple.

Photo Story

Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
I like the effect I have put on the photo story.

What would you improve if you did it

again?
To improve I would have made the images clear
to what they are representing. I would have
also improve by making everything blend in
and look realist.

Illustration

Evaluation
What did you like about your image? I like
the way the way the image is not a perfect
drawing of a white lion. This is good as it
is an illustration for a children's book
where there is a lot of inaccurate drawing.
What would you improve if you did it
again?
I would improve the boldness of the
drawing as it is hard to see as I used a
scanner.

arrative Environment

Evaluation
What did you like about your image?
I like how I have used a clipping mask on the
forest floor. This is my second attempt to
use this technique. I also like the cave, I
have rotoscoped. The cave came out exactly
how I imaged it would.
What would you improve if you did it again?
To improve my narrative environment I
would redo the tree by choosing abetter
pattern and changing the colour to make it
blend in more.

Initial Ideas

The Three Little Pigs.

Three Little Pigs all live fairly
close to each other and made
their houses out of straw, furze
and brick. A hungry wolf come
and blows the houses made from
straw and furze down then when
he comes to the house made of
bricks things dont turn out the
way he plans.
For this fairytale I would change
the setting of the tale to space.

The Little Red Riding Hood.

A little girl in red cloak sets on a
journey through the forest to take
some warm cookies to her ill
grandma. However, there is a nasty
surprise waiting for her at her
grandmas cottage.

Disadvantages:
There are different types of PDF and they arent all
the
same.
A white
lion family rule all over the African plain. The young prince
wants to find a real princess to marry and travels all around the world
to find her. Feeling hopeless the young prince returns home when a
frightful storms hits. A young princess, whom has lost her way finds
the Palace and seeks shelter for the night , the young prince was
taken back by her beauty and decided to test her to see if she is a
real princess by sticking a small stone underneath her bedding. The
next morning the princess complains about the sleepless night, the
prince is so happy he decides to make her his wife.

Production Methods
To create the pages of my children's book I am going to be using a
range of methods. I will be using rotascoping for the creation of the
animals. I will also be using the shape tool to create the scene of
the story. I will also be downloading different fonts from
www.dafont.com. I will be using the warp tool a lot through out the
making of the book, the area I shall use it most will be whilst I am
using the shape tool to get a more accurate shape of the scene I
wish to create. I will be using Adobe Photoshop CS6.
Audience
My target audience is 4/5 year old. Due to my changes of the
original story there is no gender specification and will appeal to
both boys and girls. The children that will buy my book are
adventurous, like been outside and like animals. Through my
research I have found that the North of the UK will buy more of my
book than anywhere else.

Deadline
The deadline for this project is 19th November 2016.

What are the strengths of the proposal?

What areas of the proposal need further work?

Gives a clear idea of the storyline and production

methods. Well thought out plot which is well
described in the proposal. Good description of
production methods.

Add more detail to the audience section. For

example talk more about the gender and class and
why youve chosen them. Include descriptions of
the characteristics of the children. Add some
images to idea generation to make it more
interesting and colourful.

What are the strengths of the idea generation?

What areas of idea generation could have been

further developed?

The ideas are strong and clearly thought out. The

locations are indicated well and give a clear
understanding of where the story will be based.
The style of the characters is well described
through images and descriptions.

Possibly add more detail to the style of the

technique you will be using. For example, you
could use images of animals that are created in
your style. Also explain why you have used that
colour scheme and why it is effective.

What are the strengths of the proposal?

What areas of the proposal need further work?

Plot is well thought out and proposal is clear.

Production techniques are clear and to the point.

Story could be explained in more detail. More detail

could be added to audience. Include gender and
class e.t.c.

What are the strengths of the idea generation?

What areas of idea generation could have been

further developed?

There is a clear vision of the story throughout and

all seems to be well planned.

Images of a wider range of things could be useful.

More colours could have been used to make it
more interesting. Look at pros and cons of the
different stories.

What are the strengths of the proposal?

What areas of the proposal need further work?

The proposal outlines the story well and includes

detailed information on the production techniques
that will be used for the product. The format is
explained well also.

The audience section needs to include much more

information such as social grade. The dimensions
of the book need to be included as there is no set
size for a square book.

What are the strengths of the idea generation?

What areas of idea generation could have been

further developed?

The idea generation incudes a wide variety of

images which include character design ideas and
setting design ideas. Fonts and colours are also
included which adds a lot more detail to the idea
generation.

There could be a more varied selection of images,

for example the characters could have many
different images with different art styles and
colours. The images exploring the setting could be
more varied also, although the story is set in this
location more images could be included with
different colours/weather/time of day and locations.

Feedback Summary
Sum up your feedback.
My feedback discusses how I have a clear plot line. Most of my
feedback comments are how I could improve by adding more
information in the audience section. I agree with most of my feedback
and know where I can improve.
Which parts of your feedback do you agree with and why?
need more information in the audience section. I agree with this
comment as I have more I could talk about such as the location of my
audience and their characteristics.
add images of the weather/time of day on mood board I agree with
this as with my story plot it is important for the viewers to visualise
what the weather and time of day is like. Gives a clear idea of the
storyline and production methods. I agree with this as I have explained
in great detail about my production method. I have also explained my
storyline well using images and writing.
Which parts of your feedback do you disagree with and why?
include gender I do not completely agree with this comment as I have discussed
how the changes I have made to my story makes it appeal to both genders.

Original Script

Once upon a time there was a prince who wanted to marry
a princess;
but she would have to be a real princess. He travelled all
over the world
to find one, but nowhere could he get what he wanted.
There were
princesses enough, but it was difficult to find out whether
they were real
ones. There was always something about them that was
not as it should be.
So he came home again and was sad, for he would have
liked very much to
have a real princess.
One evening a terrible storm came on; there was
thunder and lightning,
and the rain poured down in torrents. Suddenly a knocking
was heard at the city gate,
and the old king went to open it.
It was a princess standing out there in front of the gate.
But, good gracious!
what a sight the rain and the wind had made her look.
The water ran down from
her hair and clothes; it ran down into the toes of her
shoes and out again at the heels.
And yet she said that she was a real princess.
Well, we'll soon find that out, thought the old queen.
But she said nothing,
went into the bed-room, took all the bedding off the
bedstead,
and laid a pea on the bottom; then she took twenty
mattresses and laid them on the pea,
and then twenty eider-down beds on top of the
mattresses. On this the princess had to lie all night.
In the morning she was asked how she had slept.

Original Script
Original Script goes here with link to where it came from
"Oh, very badly!" said she. "I have scarcely closed my eyes all night.
Heaven only knows what was in the bed,
but I was lying on something hard,
so that I am black and blue all over my body.
It's horrible!"
Now they knew that she was a real princess
because she had felt the pea
right through the twenty mattresses and
the twenty eider-down beds.
<2>
Nobody but a real princess could be as sensitive as that.
So the Prince took her for his wife,
for now he knew that he had a real princess;
and the pea was put in the museum,
where it may still be seen, if no one has stolen it.
There, that is a true story.
