Silent Call Analysis Guideline: January 2017

This document provides guidelines for analyzing silent call issues. It recommends analyzing performance and PCHR data to identify cells with high silent call rates over 0.5%. If a cell has over 1% silent call rate and 30+ calls, it is deemed a "TOP cell" requiring deep analysis. Potential causes of silent calls include transmission issues, high RTWP, poor coverage, bad EC/NO, and device issues. CDT/IOS trace data should be collected and analyzed to check call durations and pinpoint the root cause. Corrective actions include fixing transmission problems, addressing interference, conducting RF tuning, adjusting parameters, or addressing device compatibility.

Silent Call counter explain

Silent call rate = ([Link] + [Link])/([Link] +

The silent call recorded at RNC, when the lost frame rate or bad frame rate reached 20%, the 3G network will record silence count.

TOP Cell principle

Check 3 days KPI of silent call, if silent call rate > 1% and silent call number >30 as TOP cell which need deep analysis.
