Competencies Vs Objectives

A competencies framework is a model that outlines the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to succeed in a particular job or role. It communicates what an organization values and rewards. Competencies differ from job responsibilities and objectives in that competencies are the capabilities required to perform a job, while responsibilities and objectives demonstrate that the job was actually performed. Competencies do not always align with performance, as one can have the right competencies but poor performance, or accomplish objectives through wrong means despite lacking the right competencies.
