Introduction
It is the natural jealousy of children to a new child in the family
Usually occur in toddlers
They feel that new baby as the parent now share their love and
attention with some else
So, he/she become jealous either by trying to harm the sibling by hitting
or removing away attention or by going back to previously achieved
activities like feeding

Competition over similar interest and goals
Unequal treatment
Management
Separate the child from mother before the arrival
of new baby
Keep the toddlers routine as close to normal
as possible
Explain realistic situation to toddler
Involve the toddler in case of the new baby
Never compare between children, their grades

Never tell one child to do things the same way the
other one does
Ritualism
Introduction
It is define as the use of rituals or excessive devotion to ritual
It is a automatic behavior of psychogenic or cultural origin
Ritualistic behavior is basically a patter of behavior that someone follow
without realizing they are doing so
Little thing like a change in the day time routine that is lunch an hour later
than usual, walking a different route of school, travelling by bus instead of by
car, do not sleep at daytime etc upset the children
This can upset the child simply because it is a deviation in what the change is
happening when it does not usually occurs
This behavior become violent as the child get older
Most children have some sort of routine created for them by their parents
when they are young so they should keep the things where they want to keep,
not to any other place

The refers to a certain physiological and psychological phenomena induced by
the repeated taking of a substance
It includes abuse of drugs, alcohol, cannabis opioid and so on are the most
commonly abused substances by adolescents

Examination failure
Parent’s death
Lack of love and affection
Poor parental relationship
Violence between parents or towards the child
2. Physical illness or health problem
Chronic disease
Permanent handicap
3. Pressure from his friends
4. Lack of education
5. Drugs are freely and easily available
6. Genetic factor
7. Unsuccessful in marriage
Signs and Symptoms
Sudden change of mood
Person may be irritate or aggressive
Loss of interest
Loss of appetite and weight
Drowsiness
Money disappear
Poor personal hygiene
Usually smells, or marks are seen on persom’s body or clothes
Prevention
Provision of adequate facilities for recreation and entertainment, especially in
the hostels.
Provision of mental health program and periodical guidance facilities in school
Strict implementation of drugs control measures
The ill effect of substance abuse to be informed to the public through individual
or group health education and by mass media communication to create public
awareness
Parents, teacher and family members are also responsible to provide emotional
support to the older children to prevent frustration, conflict, confusion and
mental tension.
The addicted children need psycho therapy, deaddiction services and
rehabilitation
