INTRODUCTION
As per the Kerala land reforms act, 1969 there is a maximum ceiling limit of land area a person can
own.
But now a day’s people are purchasing lands illegally beyond this limit.
We propose a web application to detect these land frauds based on the ration card number of each
family which provides us the list of members in a family with the acres of land each member in the
family owns.
4
PROBLEM STATEMENT
Land frauds in Kerala have been identified as an important source
of damage to Kerala’s economic balance. So we propose a web
application to detect land frauds based on the ration card
number of each family.
OBJECTIVE
• Detect Land Frauds in Kerala

FRAUD DETECTION AND PREVENTION BY USING BIG DATA
ANALYTICS

Fraud detection is finding actual or expected fraud which takes place in an organization and in the retail market it
is one of the challenging aspects.
Analyzing financial crimes related to fraudulent activities is difficult where traditional data mining techniques
fail to address all of them.
Big data analytics is used to identify an unusual pattern to detect and prevent fraud in the retail sector.
Various predictive analytics tools are used to handle massive data and their pattern.

The key idea of this paper is to detect fraudulent activities with the help of bigdata.
The architecture of the system includes collection of data records from various sources and
passing it on to the bigdata framework which includes the computation of fraud indications.
LITERATURE SURVEY Cont.. 7
IDEOLOGY
• The system works on operator-defined rules and their violations are reported as fraud.
ADVANTAGES
• This paper discusses about every existing fraud detection patterns using big data.
DISADVANTAGES
• Shortage of trained professionals and data scientists.
• Big data analytics faces challenges such as data privacy, quality of data, lack of
cooperation and support in sharing data

ONLINE CREDIT CARD FRAUD DETECTION: A HYBRID
FRAMEWORK WITH BIG DATA TECHNOLOGIES
You Dai,Jin Yan,Xiaoxin Tang,Han Zhao and Minyi Guo - IEEE 2016
•This paper focus on designing an online credit card fraud detection framework with big data technologies.
•The main aim is to achieve three major goals:
1) The ability to fuse multiple detection models to improve accuracy
2) The ability to process large amount of data
3) The ability to do the detection in real time.
Technologies used here
•Online Credit Card Fraud Detection Frame-work
• Big Data
•Model fusion

“
• Analysis of different fraud schemes to discover fraud patterns using
data mining techniques.
• Uses Naive Byes algorithm techniques.
• Application of Hadoop methods to identify suspicious transactions in
land records.
• Big data facilitate the building of fraud detection models that can be
integrated with registration systems, and act as an alarm system.
LITERATURE SURVEY Cont.. 12
METHODOLOGY
•This paper, propose a hybrid framework with Big Data technologies to
solve performance challenges faced by online CCFDS.
•We propose a credit card fraud detection workflow, which can fuse
different detection models to improve accuracy.
•We design a four-layer framework which includes distributed storage
layer, batch training layer, key-value sharing layer and streaming
detection layer.
•We implement the framework with the latest big data technologies like
Hadoop, Spark, Storm, HBase, etc.
•With these technologies, we are able to handle the burst amount of data
and build a scalable and reliable system.
LITERATURE SURVEY Cont.. 13
IDEOLOGY
Our project also use the same approach to store, process and analyse data at real time.
ADVANTAGES
•With the four layers used here , we are able to support massive data storage, and real-time online fraud detection
respectively.
•The hybrid framework can also be applied in other similar application fields.
• For example , internet advertising fraud detection, telecom fraud detection and so on.
•Big Data technologies provide an easy and scalable way to fuse more detection algorithms.
DISADVANTAGES
•Hadoop has a poor performance on iterative and online computing.
•Any slow component could become a bottleneck of the whole system.
•For an increasing incoming transactions, the delay will increase significantly, due to a limited amount of computing
resources.

Ideology
The concept of Big Data mentioned in this paper is used in our project.
Advantages
• Applying Big Data methods can lead to rapid detection of fraudulent profiles which
may not be possible with the help of conventional techniques.
• Decrease the data storage cost.
Disadvantages
• Setting initial parameters can lead to many false alarms that require further
investigation.
