Summer project is a very important activity which is


made for management students, the only benefit
from summer project is to learn how to survive in a
modern business and what attitude is to use for it,
again as a management student summer project is not
a just a project it’s a learning process, thanks
AILSPL to allow to complete my summer project in
your organization.
Introduction To Export

• The definition of “Export" is when you trade


something out of the country. In economics, an export
is any good or commodity, transported from one
country to another country in a legitimate fashion,
typically for use in trade.
• Currently India stands 23rd in the list of countries by
exports at a value of $ 155 billion and 1.24% of the
total word export.
Introduction To Import

• Import is any good (e.g. a commodity)


or service brought in from one country to another
country in a legitimate fashion, typically for use
in trade. It is a good that is brought in from another
country for sale.
• Currently India stands 15th in the list of countries by
imports at a value of $ 287 billion and 2.21% of the
total word import.

Import Documents

The documents that are essentially required are :


 Customs Attested Invoice
 Packing List
 Bill of Lading / Delivery Order
 GATT declaration form duly filled in Importers
 Import License or attested photocopy when clearance is under license
 Letter of Credit / Bank Draft wherever necessary
 Insurance memo or insurance policy
 Industrial License if required
Import Documents

The documents that are essentially required are :

 Certificate of country of origin, if preferential rate is claimed.


 Technical literature.
 Test report in case of chemicals
 Advance License / DEPB in original, where applicable
 Split up of value of spares, components and machinery
 No commission declaration.
– A declaration in prescribed form about correctness of information should
be submitted.
Export Documents

Exporter also has to prepare other documents like

 Four copies of Commercial Invoice


 Four copies of Packing List
 Certificate of Origin or pre-shipment inspection where required
 Insurance policy.
 Letter of Credit
 Declaration of Value
 Letter showing BIN Number.
Analysis

1. Third Party Logistics


A third-party logistics (3PL) firm is an external supplier that performs all or part
of the company's logistics functions.
The economic advantages of using 3PL service are:
 Elimination of infrastructure investments
 Access to world-class processes, products, services or technologies
 Improved ability to react quickly to changes in business environments
 Risk sharing
 Better cash-flow
 Reduction of operating costs
 Exchange of fixed costs with variable costs
 Access to resources not available in one's own organization
