STEADY STATE STABILITY
• There is a tendency for the system to develop restoring
force to bring it to normal or stable condition when
subjected to some form of disturbance.
• Stability: The ability of the system to reach a normal or
stable operating condition after being subjected to
disturbance is called Stability.
•Stability is divided into three main categories depending
upon the magnitude of the disturbance.
1. Steady state stability : Due to small disturbances &
basically concerned with gradual variation of loads.
2. Transient stability: Concerned with sudden and large
variations due to a switching actions and fault conditions.
3. Dynamic stability: Concerned with small disturbances
that exist for a long time including the automatic control
devices such as power system stabilizer.
Stability Limit:
The maximum power that can be transferred by the
system from source to load under stable conditions is
known as stability limit.

STEADY STATE POWER O/P
A significance of the power angle curve is to analyze the stability
of a given system,
Consider a Generator handed at terminal as shown in figure.
