Volcanic Eruption Safety Plan Guide

This safety plan outlines precautions for a volcanic eruption in three phases: 1. Pre-disaster risk identification involves learning about volcanic hazards, community warning systems, emergency organizations, and creating an evacuation plan including responsibilities, meeting locations, supplies, and utility shut-off procedures. 2. During eruption, listen to authorities, evacuate immediately if needed, seek shelter indoors away from volcanic areas, and protect from rockfall and ashfall. 3. Post-disaster involves continuing to receive information, remaining indoors until declared safe, inspecting damage and notifying insurance, and clearing heavy ashfall while limiting phone use.
