Combatting Animal Cruelty in India

This document discusses animal cruelty in India. It defines animal cruelty as abuse or neglect of animals. It provides examples of different types of neglect and abuse. It also discusses recent cases of animal cruelty in India where explosives were used to kill animals. The document argues that India is falling short in preventing animal cruelty because the laws have not been updated since 1960 and impose very small fines that are not a deterrent. PETA views are presented that see a link between cruelty to animals and violence towards humans.
