1. INTRODUCTION
Virtual Assistant – a software agent that can perform tasks or services for an individual.
Virtual Assistants are software programs that help you ease your day to day tasks, such as showing
weather report, creating reminders, making shopping lists etc.
They can take commands via text (online chat bots) or by voice. Voice based intelligent assistants
need an invoking word or wake word to activate the listener, followed by the command
We have so many virtual assistants, such as Apple’s Siri, Amazon’s Alexa and Microsoft’s Cortana.
2. TECHNOLOGY IN BRIEF
Natural Language Processing (NLP) : NLP focuses on enabling computers to understand
and interpret human language in a way that is similar to how humans communicate.
Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR): is a technology that converts spoken language
into written text. It enables machines to understand and process spoken language, opening
up opportunities for hands-free interactions, accessibility, and efficient data analysis.
Natural Language Understanding (NLU) : NLU goes beyond speech recognition or text
transcription and aims to understand the semantics, intent, and context of user input
Dialog Management : is a key component of conversational AI systems that focuses on
managing the flow of conversation between a user and an AI agent.
Sentiment Analysis: also known as opinion mining, is a technique used to analyze and
determine the sentiment or emotional tone expressed in textual data.

8.FUTURE SCOPE
Voice assistants will continue to offer more individualized experiences as they get better at
differentiating between voices.
However, it’s not just developers that need to address the complexity of developing for voice as
brands also need to understand the capabilities of each device and integration and if it makes sense
for their specific brand.
They will also need to focus on maintaining a user experience that is consistent within the coming
years as complexity becomes more of a concern.
This is because the visual interface with voice assistants is missing. Users simply cannot see or
touch a voice interface
9.CONCLUSION
This technology will spawn revolutionary changes in the modern world
and become a pivot technology, within five years ,this technology will
become so pervasive in our daily lives that service environments
lacking technology will be considered inferior
