Co-ordinate System:-
The position of an object can be defined
by the help of co-ordinate system with
reference to X & Y Axis from origin .

X - Axis 0
Cartesian:-
In this co-ordinate system all the co-ordinate
is calculated from the origin and the origin is
fixed . By the help of x,y & z axis.
It is divided in two parts.
Absolute co-ordinate system.
Incremental co-ordinate system.
Absolute:-
In this co-ordinate system origin is fixed and
we have to calculate all the co-ordinates from
an origin.
We have to put the co-ordinates in the form
of ‘x’ value, ‘y’ value.
X, Y
Incremental:-
In this co-ordinate system origin is
changeable and if we are going to next point
then that previous point is our origin.
How to write Incremental co-ordinate system
@ x, y
@ ‘x’ value, ‘y’ value
Polar :-
Polar co-ordinate system uses a distance
and a angle with reference to the previous
point to locate a point .
How to write polar co-ordinate system
@ Distance < Angle
CAD :-
CAD - Computer Aided Designing
By which we can create model as for
the requirement by the help of cad .
Ex-AutoCAD, Solid Works, CATIA.
CAM :-
CAM- Computer Aided Manufacturing
By which we can designing the model n
create
the program for machining .
Ex- Master CAM, CATIA ,UG, Creo
Parametric
AUTOCAD :-
Auto cad is semi parametric ,command based, low-
end ,non associative and best drafting software.
Semi Parametric –Parameters can be modified up to
certain limits .
Command Based :- All options can be used by helps of
command
Low-End :- No. of modules is less
Non Associative :- No inter link between work benches
Drafting :- It is the complete representation of
drawing with proper dimension and geometric
symbols.
HISTORY OF
AUTOCAD :-
AUTO-CAD is a Drawing Software package ,
Developed by the company Autodesk in
U.S.A.
AutoCAD software was firstly launched by
Autodesk company in Dec. 1982.
It comes to India in 1988.
The first version of AutoCAD was R1 after that
R2,R3,R4…………… and so on.
In 2000,Autodesk launched a version of
AutoCAD 2000 after that 2001,2002…… so on.
ADVANTAGE OF
AUTOCAD :-
1.Easy communication &Drawing sharing
2.Easy modification
4. Reduce the time & man power (around
50%)
5.Runing cost is low compare to others
HARDWARE
REQUIREMENT :-
1.Operating system- Window 7, 8, 8.1
onwards
2.Processor - Dual Core onwards
3.Ram – 4 GB or more
4.Hard Disk – 10 GB or more
5.Graphic code - It should support 1024
x768 VGA resolution
6.Optional Devices Required - Printer,
Plotter
Paper size :-

A5 147x210 165x240
Ratio of drawing sheet is 1:√2
AUTO CAD SCREEN:-
Title bar –it will give the information about the
software.
Status bar-status bar is equal to functional
keys.
