Telecom Network Architecture

Telecom networks are structured into three main layers: Radio Access Network (RAN), Core Network, and Transport Network. RAN facilitates wireless communication through components like BTS and gNodeB, while the Core Network manages call routing and data sessions. The Transport Network is responsible for data transmission between nodes using technologies such as Microwave and Fiber.

Telecom Network Architecture

Introduction
• Telecom networks consist of RAN, Core, and
Transport layers.
Radio Access Network (RAN)
• Handles wireless communication, includes
BTS, NodeB, eNodeB, gNodeB.
Core Network
• Manages call routing, authentication, data
sessions (MSC, MME, AMF, etc.).
Transport Network
• Handles data transmission between network
nodes (Microwave, Fiber, IP/MPLS).
