How do you drive defensively?
Adjust your mirrors and your seat
Ensure you and all the passengers are wearing the seatbelt
Close all the doors properly
Check gauges and warning lights
Obeying the rules of the road
Driving considering the conditions of road and weather
Looking ahead, scanning the road for potential hazards &
anticipating what might go wrong.
Maintaining a safe distance between you and the vehicle in front
Being aware of what vehicle & pedestrians are around you, their speed,
direction of travel and what they might do
Making yourself visible to other drivers and trying not to do anything
unexpected
Try to maintain an escape route at all times
