  • colugos are amazing!! there are only two species of them and they’re found in southeast Asia. they may resemble bats, but they’re in their own order (Dermoptera) and their closest relatives are primates!

    they’re also sometimes referred to as flying lemurs which is funny because they neither fly nor are lemurs :) they ARE able to glide though, and they eat fruit, leaves, and flowers. their incisors are super cool and have grooves that help them feed and also groom themselves!!! they are so interesting and amazing and more people need to know about them!!!!!!!!

  • not just for the genuine physical library but like. you know that you can use Kanopy for free with a library card right? it frequently has new films but also a huge collection of non-U.S. films and classic movies. I watched A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night and But I'm a Cheerleader in the same day. you can stream essentially any music and a ton of TV shows on Hoopla? both have smartphone apps. and it costs you nothing. I'm currently streaming Kehlani after listening to a Glenn Miller Orchestra compilation album while I did chores this morning and the first thing that pops up when you open the app is the new Olivia Rodrigo album. The entirety of Dr. Who is available on there rn. I have an audiobook checked out that I listen to in the car. my neighborhood branch had a conservation scientist come in with live bats and gave a free all ages lecture about them. most library's have museum passes you can rent with your library card for up to like 4-6 people. get a freakin library card
