Electronic Information Technology Accessibility Policy

The University of Florida is committed to providing everyone a welcoming and accessible campus. UF strives to ensure individuals with disabilities enjoy reasonable access to services and resources required by the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and other applicable federal and state regulations. This website will serve as a central resource to inform stakeholders on the university's efforts related to accessibility. Please take a moment and review the important information on our web page and Go Gators!

The ADA and Title II at UF

UF is preparing to respond to new ADA Title II regulations released by the U.S. Department of Justice on April 24, 2024. The new regulations mandate that web content and mobile applications offered by public entities will conform to WCAG 2.1 level AA standards, with few exceptions, by April 24, 2026.

Recite Me Assistive Toolbar

UF offers a university-wide license to the Recite Me Assistive Toolbar, which serves as a convenient option for website users interested in enabling text-to-speech features, adjusting webpage text size, color contrasts, and more. An example of this toolbar can be seen on this website via the gray and white button at the top of this webpage (next to Resources). UF does not rely only on Recite Me to encourage inclusivity. All users must ensure that their websites are built and maintained to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA standards.
