Downtown Design 2025 is set to be a global celebration of design, bringing together leading international brands and first-time participants shaping the future of the industry. Returning highlights include Kartell, Poltrona Frau, Obegi Home, Caspaiou, Huda Lighting, and Venini, alongside new debuts from Roche Bobois, Desalto, and Porada. This year also sees Stellar Works with Calico Wallpaper in a space by Emirati architect Omar Al Gurg, immersive showcases from Nordic Homeworx with Styled Habitat, and Cosentino’s Art Deco-inspired lounge by Etereo. The Dhow Design Collective will spotlight icons including Vitra, Artemide, and Louis Poulsen. As the region’s leading design fair, Downtown Design continues to be the platform where global pioneers and new voices converge to expand the design conversation. The UAE Designer Exhibition celebrates UAE-based talent, providing designers with a platform at Dubai Design Week’s anchor event, Downtown Design, to showcase their work, gain visibility and commercial opportunities, build connections, and join a creative community shaped by craftsmanship, cultural depth, and forward-thinking ideas. Supported by Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, the platform has showcased more than 170 designers, many of whom have gone on to establish their own brands and gain international exposure. The last edition was curated by Omar Al Gurg, who once was a participating designer — a true reflection of the opportunities UAE Designer Exhibition creates. Earlier this year, UAE Designer Exhibition was recognised as “Best Incubator” in the Monocle Design (Monocle) Awards 2025. Based in Milan’s fashion district, Illulian (@illulian) is known for collections that move between rare antique rugs, contemporary works, and collaborations with designers such as Zaha Hadid (@zahahadidarchitects), Paola Navone (@paola.navone), and Dimore Studio (@dimorestudio). ⁠ ⁠ This year at Downtown Design, Illulian unveils a special project with the Fondazione Achille Castiglioni. Drawing inspiration from Castiglioni's iconic 1988 lamp, the piece translates its floral form and luminous rhythm into Himalayan wool and natural silk, handwoven with centuries-old techniques. #DTD2025

Back at Downtown Design this year, Alain Ellouz Paris returns with its signature mastery of alabaster, a millennia-old stone known for its natural translucence and poetic depth.⁠ ⁠ Each piece begins with carefully sourced stone from deep within the quarries. Through a meticulous process, Alain Ellouz transforms raw material into luminous design pieces that balance natural character with refined craftsmanship.⁠ #DTD2025⁠

Decorative objects play a key role in shaping interior character introducing layers of texture, contrast and craftsmanship. ⁠ ⁠ This November, Downtown Design will present a curated selection of brands redefining form and finish in decorative objects. ⁠ ⁠ Stephanie Coutas (@stephaniecoutas) presents Jardin d’Éden, a collection of ceramic tableware defined by sculpted profiles and bold tonal contrasts. ⁠ Studio Obliq (@studio.obliq) explores geometry and finish through locally crafted pieces. ⁠ ⁠ Hestia Living (@hestialivingeveryday) introduces Soleil, a collection of carved accents with a refined material palette. ⁠ ⁠ Art+Loom (@artandloom) brings depth to soft surfaces with hand-tufted rugs shaped by texture and composition. ⁠ ⁠ LZF Lamps (@lzflamps), presented by ICEX (@icex_), works with natural wood veneers to produce lighting that merges craftsmanship with ambient effect.
