Why do I have to click out of and then back into a chat for the notification to clear?
Every time I get a chat on desktop when Teams isn't in focus or is in the system tray, I get a notification (normal so far). When I open Teams, if that chat conversation was the last I had open, I have to click on a different chat and then back to the first in order for the notification to clear. Happens every time. I've uninstalled and re-installed and tested on another Win10 machine, same results1.3KViews2likes2CommentsTeams build 25275.2601.4002.2815) instantly closes on launch ucrtbase.dll error 0xc0000409
After updating to Teams 25275.2601.4002.2815, the app opens for one second then closes—no UI, no error. Env: Win 11 Pro 23H2 (26100) WebView2 141.0.3537.92 Entra ID joined (AAD) Faulting module: ucrtbase.dll Exception code: 0xc0000409 Path: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\MSTeams_25275.2601.4002.2815_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\ms-teams.exe Tried: cleared Teams/WebView2/AAD caches, reinstalled Teams + WebView2 + VC++, did Reset this PC and clean USB install — same result. Works fine for local admin + other Entra users and browser. Older builds (Aug/Sep 2025) work fine → likely regression in this release. Please confirm if known and being investigated.207Views1like2CommentsAuto-Updating Teams Work Location is Not Employee Monitoring
As is the way of the internet, the news that a feature to automatically set the Teams work location for users created a huge fuss about the prospect that managers would keep an eye on employees based on their location. Of course, this is all rubbish. The update automates an existing feature that no sane manager would use to monitor employees. https://office365itpros.com/2025/10/28/teams-work-location-auto/33Views0likes1CommentChanging Notification Settings for all users on a Team
Is there a way to change the notification settings for everyone that is part of a Team Channel? In other words... we have a channel in our Teams chat that we want everyone to receive notifications for whenever there is a reply in that channel. I don't mind using PowerShell or whatever I need to use in order to achieve this. We just want everyone on the team to receive notifications for all replies in a channel. Background: We attempted to migrate a client group to Teams in order to enable functionality with our Office 365 setup. We have an app for them to use, and we have a Site that we share files on, etc. This group of people are newer to technology, so having everything be user-friendly is a must. The problem came up that nobody was receiving notifications for replies in the Team channels. They are only used to SMS text messaging and group texting, so they want to use the channels similarly to group texts. The group ended up switching back to texting because its easier for them to use. We need them to switch to Teams, so we want to fix this issue for them and make things as easy as possible.Solved203KViews9likes41CommentsTeams Admin Center Withdraws Dark Mode Support
Microsoft announced on August 17 that they are not proceeding with the implementation of dark mode support in the Teams Admin center. The news came as a surprise, but it’s an indication of the lack of user interface consistency across the different Microsoft 365 administrative consoles. Token handling is another example. I can live without dark mode, but being forced to sign out by the Teams admin center is a pain. https://office365itpros.com/2023/08/28/teams-admin-center-dark-mode/3.3KViews0likes1CommentTeams Tab Blazor App Works in Web but Not Desktop – SSO / Access Denied Issue

For the love of God, please add the ability to make my status show as away for external and available to internal team members. This seems so basic and would make my life so much better, yet I can find no solution. If I show as available, I am constantly bombarded by external clients. If I set myself to busy or away, then my staff think I'm unavailable. Please develop a solution!19Views1like1CommentNew Teams Interface – can't pin /favorite entire teams
CoPilot wrote this post... in fact its proposed title was New Teams Interface – Missing Basic Functionality & Creating Chaos for Admins, so I think it's sensing a bit of annoyance at the new UI... I’m posting this out of sheer frustration after wrestling with the new Microsoft Teams layout. I'm an IT admin responsible for managing Teams across multiple users, and the recent interface update has made that nearly impossible. Key issue: You can no longer pin or favourite entire teams—only individual channels. This is a huge regression in usability. For power users and admins, being able to organize entire teams was essential. Now, everything’s buried under scattered views, vague icons, and non-intuitive menus. I’ve gone through every menu and setting imaginable. “Show,” “Pin,” “Back to classic”—none of it helps because Microsoft simply removed the feature. Even Copilot (Microsoft's own AI tool) couldn’t make sense of what was missing until we both realized the function was outright gone. That’s saying something. This change is actively hurting productivity for both end users and those of us tasked with supporting them. Updates should make things better—not hide or remove critical features without proper notice or alternatives. Microsoft, please rethink this. Stop redesigning without considering the real-world implications for businesses trying to stay organized. — If others are feeling the same pain, let’s get this some visibility. Teams stores information in a local state file, including encrypted access tokens. A report from a French company explained how to extract and use those tokens with the Graph API. Is this important? It could be if attackers manage to gain access to a workstation, but at that point you’ve got other problems, and maybe using code to decrypt some tokens is the least of your troubles. https://office365itpros.com/2025/10/27/local-state-file-teams/40Views0likes0CommentsTest call option not showing up in Teams?
Hi I've downloaded a personal version of Teams and need to test it. However, the 'Test call' option is not available? I've tried 2 methods: 1) typing 'Test call' in the search bar and pressing enter - nothing happens when I do this! 2) going to Settings then Devices then checking for the 'Test call' option - but it's not there! I've attached what I can see when I got to Devices and what I should be able to see (from a video I watched online) I'm using Version 1.4.00.22472 (64-bit). Can anyone please advise?114KViews3likes18CommentsDisplay Teams chat message with date stamp rather than relative day
Is there a way to force Teams Chat messages to display the date of a message rather than "yesterday" or "today"? e.g. display "27/08/2024" instead of displaying "yesterday 2:12 pm". (I'm creating this post on 28/08.) We use screenshots of Teams messages in our processes, and having to wait for the actual date to displayed invariably means taking the screenshot is forgotten. Immersive reader always shows the actual date, but not the recipient of the message. No help there.4.4KViews8likes9CommentsCannot login to Teams on iphone
Hi All, I am using Teams with a personal Microsoft account (Microsoft 365 family plan). I am successfully signed into Teams on my Mac computer and can use if with no problems. However, I cannot sign into the app with the account on the iphone app. After entering my password or going through Authenticator, I receive a message: No Teams orgs yet Looks like you're not using Teams yet. Check that you've been invited by the org you're trying to sign in to. You can also set up Teams for your org by selecting Create new account. I have already searched extensively but couldn't find any solutions that worked. Have uninstalled and reinstalled the app multiple times. I am on am iphone 16 pro with the latest version of ios installed. Any ideas? Thanks.1.1KViews1like5CommentsBest survey tool for Microsoft Teams?
Because Forms isn't cutting it anymore! What would you recommend as the best employee survey tool to use inside Microsoft Teams. We definitely need a survey solution that functions inside Teams because the second our team has to open another app, survey completion rates drop fast. Forms was a simple rudimentary solution but now I think we need a more sophisticated tool with better anlytics. Any thoughts?39Views0likes1CommentGhost notifications
Got an employee that still receives notifications for a meeting that no longer exists. Have logged her out then back in, cleared cache, cleared data, re-installed and verified with the owner/creator of the meeting that the meeting has been deleted. She only gets this on her iPhone and no where else. Ideas?22Views0likes0CommentsHow do you handle rewards & recognition in MS Teams?

Hi. I've recently joined a new organisation and want to have Teams active on my phone as I did with a previous organisation. Unfortunately, my app is stuck in a login loop, I can't log in to log out (my account has been deactivated) and I can't find any place to remove any further user accounts in the system. Basically, I can't use Teams on my phone until I can find away to fix this. Any suggestions?85KViews3likes17Comments
