Not all households experience inflation the same way. The paper titled ‘The Impact of Inflation on Different Income Groups in Curaçao’ finds that in Curaçao, lower-income groups bear the greatest inflationary burden, as rising food, electricity, and fuel prices take up a larger share of their spending. Strengthening resilience against external price shocks is key to safeguarding their purchasing power, according to Robert P.A. Hieroms, CBCS Economic Analysis & Research Specialist and author of the paper. Click this link to download the full working paper: https://lnkd.in/eKGR2xC2

Rising prices don’t affect everyone equally. A new CBCS study, conducted by Robert P.A. Hieroms, Economic Analysis & Research Specialist, reveals that in Curaçao, lower-income households have been hit hardest by inflation between 2017 and 2024 — especially due to increases in food, housing, and gasoline prices. To better understand the key factors influencing foreign investors’ decisions and to help shape policies that attract FDI in a sustainable way, the CBCS is conducting an FDI study. Participating companies in Curaçao have received an invitation to complete a short online survey. The survey is in English, takes approximately 15 minutes, and is anonymous—all data will be treated with the highest level of confidentiality. To give more firms the opportunity to contribute, the survey deadline has been extended till October 21. If your company has received FDI, we kindly invite you to complete the survey before the new deadline.

One phone call is all it takes for a scammer to trick you into revealing sensitive information or scam you out of your money. They sound convincing, use real names, and know how to build trust. Often, they also create a sense of urgency. Scammers are getting smarter, so should you. Hang up the phone and call the source directly to check the facts and never give out confidential information like your bank account number or PIN-code. Your bank will never ask for this information over the phone.
