October is Liver Cancer Awareness Month 🌍 Liver cancer continues to pose a growing public health threat across Europe. In 2022 alone, it claimed over 50,000 lives in the EU, reflecting a sharp increase in burden over the past three decades. In a joint call to action with DGVS Deutsche Gesellschaft für Gastroenterologie, Verdauungs- und Stoffwechselkrankheiten, launched during #UEGWeek in Berlin, we urge concrete measures to strengthen prevention and early detection of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
