Info
Transfer pricing is one of the most relevant and challenging topics in the international tax environment. The increasing global trade and the role of multinational enterprises in the global economy have boosted the relevance of this topic. The players currently interacting in this field are mainly international organizations, governments and tax administrations, the business community, and advisors. There is, however, an emerging need for the contribution of the academia to these topics, in order to facilitate the link between pragmatic solutions and theoretical principles. Within this background, the WU Transfer Pricing Center at the Institute for Austrian and International Tax Law aims at researching, analysing, debating and teaching transfer pricing topics. Through its activities, it positions itself as a global institution providing the missing nexus between theory and practice in approaching transfer pricing topics. The Center combines both the academic and practical perspectives and its approach is highly international and interdisciplinary.

Controlled transactions, allocation of profits, transfer pricing methods, permanent establishments, resolving transfer pricing disputes? All these themes (and many others) were introduced as case studies to our WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business) Bachelor Course on “Transfer Pricing” this semester by Ruth Mirembe, Marcelo H. B. Moura, Prisca Musibi and Abhishek Padwalkar. It was wonderful to teach such a motivated and curious international audience during this summer term! #TransferPricing #Introduction #WUTPC #CaseStudies #WU #BachelorCourse #TaxLawWU #TaxLawVienna #InstituteForTaxLaw

"How prescriptive are the OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines?" – Our Managing Director Dr. Raffaele Petruzzi was happy to discuss this question in a lecture on May 14 in Brussels for the European Commission. It was a privilege to exchange views with such a knowledgeable and engaged audience. The depth and breadth of the discussions reflected the importance (and the complexity) of the topic. We would like to thank Harold Nyssens and Alessandro Denaro for the kind invitation and warm welcome, and all participants for their excellent questions and stimulating insights. #WUTPC #WU #TaxLawWU #TaxLawVienna #TaxLaw #TransferPricing #OECD #OECDTPG #InternationalTax #EuropeanCommission #TaxPolicy
