This bachelor program provides a strong foundation in computer science and information technology. I learned about programming (in Python, R and JS), software development, databases, computer networks, security, AI and more. There are also two electives in the last semester from which I have chosen Bioinformatics as it provides a deep dive into computer vision and applying machine learning algorithms on medical images.

My bachelor thesis deals with patients suffering from Parkinson's Disease. The thesis is called 'FOG detection of Parkinson patients based on IMU data using machine learning' and analyses a public data set from 2022. The data set includes sensor data from a wearable device that patients wear on their ankles and meta data about the patients (age, gender, medication etc).
The goal is to try different machine learning algorithms and evaluate their performance on detecting when the patients mobility is compromised and he/she gets into a condition called freeze of gait. -
