Yesterday, at Primary Care, Digitally Connected, we explored the future of digital health in primary care. We heard from a range of sector leaders, including Dr Amandeep H., Danielle Bancroft, Dr Michael Bonning, Daniel McCabe, Dr Nirvana Luckraj, Dr Michael Wright, Brett Long, Tim Blake and Richard Skimin. Their insights covered everything from digital readiness and Medicare reform to the future of data custodianship and the vision for digitally-enabled primary care. We delved into topics like digital maturity, the power of data in clinical practice, and the shifting dynamics of health policy, all underscoring one crucial point: the future of healthcare is digital, connected, and evolving at a rapid pace. A big thank you to our program partner The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP), attendees, and speakers for making this event such a success. #DigitalHealth #PrimaryCare #Medicare #HealthcareInnovation #RACGP #Healthdirect #AustralianDigitalHealthAgency #MedicareReform #HealthTech

The Australasian Institute of Digital Health (AIDH) is pleased to see the updated version of the National Prescribing Competencies Framework, which includes crucial amendments related to digital health tools and systems - including electronic prescribing and digital health records. One of the key amendments we advocated for was ensuring that when issuing an electronic prescription, the prescriber ensures the patient understands how to access and use both the prescription and any repeats. This is a crucial step toward enhancing the patient experience and ensuring a smooth, safe, and effective transition to digital health for all parties involved.
