Last week, Akaysha Energy was honoured to be showcased at two exciting events in Germany - the Australian Consulate in Frankfurt and the Australian Embassy in Berlin. We shared insights from Australia’s BESS boom and how this can help Germany’s energy transition. Our CEO Nick Carter and Chief Commercial Officer Paul Curnow joined a panel with Daniel Seybold (Copenhagen Energy) and Beatrice Schulz (BVES Energy Storage Systems Association) to discuss: 👉 The evolving German energy policy landscape 👉 The role of strategically located storage and programs like Netzbooster 👉 Managing curtailment and connection challenges — what we've learnt in Australia 👉 The scale-up journey from 20MW → 200MW and what it means for Germany 👉 The current shape of Germany’s offtake market A huge thank you to Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), Ambassador Natasha Smith (GAICD), David Urry, Sandra R., and Eva Pannhausen for their generous support, and to all who joined the conversation. At Akaysha Energy, we’re excited to be joining forces with our development partner for Germany Copenhagen Energy to bring our experience to this fast-evolving storage market. Earlier this year, Akaysha Energy commenced the METI-supported BESS in Fukuoka, our first Japanese project. Spearheading this effort are Rika Kawanami and Sota Iwasaki, based in our Tokyo office, who are driving the growth of our BESS pipeline in Japan. To build on this momentum, last night Akaysha Energy hosted an event in Tokyo on how big batteries and innovative offtake models can accelerate Japan’s energy transition. We heard perspectives from: 👉 Gohshun Kawamura, Of Counsel at Orrick Asia 👉 Yosuke Sato, Senior Vice President, Power Team at Mizuho 👉 Paul Curnow, Managing Director & Chief Commercial Officer, Akaysha Energy 👉 Phil Lee, General Manager Contracted Revenue, Akaysha Energy The message was clear: flexible, bankable offtake structures are key to unlocking the investment and storage Japan needs for net zero. As our Managing Director of International Markets, Tony Fullelove said, “Batteries will be central to unlocking Japan’s renewable potential, ensuring grid stability, and providing offtakers with the flexibility and certainty they need.”

Akaysha Energy has signed a landmark 15-year Virtual Tolling Agreement with Snowy Hydro for our 311MW / 1244MWh Elaine BESS in Victoria. 👉 This is Snowy Hydro’s first ever battery offtake agreement. 👉 At 220MW, it's the largest 4-hour virtual toll in Australia. 👉 It sets a new benchmark for long-term, investment-grade battery contracts. This structure gives Snowy Hydro the benefits of operating a large-scale battery without having to build it. It also delivers bankable revenues, proving that flexible offtake models can drive major storage projects. Together, we’re making the grid more reliable, helping integrate more renewables and showing that big batteries mean big value for Australia’s energy market. The 224th Tesla megapack was delivered to Akaysha Energy's Orana BESS yesterday, the official halfway mark to delivery completion. Kudos to the Akaysha Energy team and our partners Tesla Energy and Consolidated Power Projects for managing the deliveries smoothly and safely. The Orana BESS will have a capacity of 415MW and provide 4 hours or 1660MWh of energy storage. Every successful delivery brings Orana closer to becoming one of the largest battery energy storage systems in NSW, strengthening the grid and supporting more renewable energy to flow reliably to households and businesses. Onwards to 448! EnergyAustralia ASL (formerly AEMO Services)

We’re proud to share that Akaysha Energy has secured Capacity Investment Scheme (CIS) support for the Deer Park BESS in Victoria (275MW/1100MWh), previously under development by Lumea, and our Ulinda Park BESS Expansion in QLD (195MW/780MWh), bringing the expanded BESS to 350MW/1078MWh. Why is the CIS important? 👉 The CIS is an impactful way to support batteries as long-term energy transition infrastructure. 👉 It helps us move faster on delivery and bring more big batteries and renewables online sooner. 👉 The flexibility to move into bilateral offtake agreements means we’re not locked in, which strengthens the investment case. As Paul Curnow, our MD & Chief Commercial Officer, put it: “These awards don’t just underline the critical role of big batteries in Australia’s energy future, they enhance revenue certainty, unlock investment, and enable us to deliver faster.” The future of energy is flexible, reliable, and renewable and batteries are at the centre of it. Big milestone at Akaysha Energy! We have successfully secured a A$300 million corporate debt facility backed by a syndicate of global and domestic banks – BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank, ING, SMBC Group and Westpac. This gives us the scale and flexibility to keep building out our pipeline, not just here in Australia, but also across the US, Japan and Germany. As Andrew Wegman, our Chief Financial & Investment Officer, put it: “This is a landmark facility for Akaysha and for the Australian renewables sector. It provides the scale and flexibility to accelerate our development pipeline and capitalise on near-term opportunities in Australian and global energy markets.” Large-scale batteries are the backbone of a reliable, renewable-powered grid. This support means we can move faster to deliver the large-scale storage needed to keep energy secure and reliable in Australia and beyond. Huge thanks to our banking partners for their confidence in our strategy, and to the Akaysha Energy team for delivering another milestone as we grow internationally. "Don’t underestimate where an apprenticeship or first job can take you. I started as an apprentice, turning spanners in a power station. Now, I’m responsible for the operation of the largest battery in the Southern Hemisphere. The key is to keep learning, step up to challenges, and never stop building your skills, you never know where that path might lead.” Today, Akaysha Energy's very own Robbie Shankster, Site Operations Manager at the Waratah Super Battery, shared this message with 600 high school students at the Hunter Renewables Careers Expo in Newcastle. Stories like Robbie’s show just how much possibility there is in Australia’s energy transition. A big thank you to EnergyCo and Regional Industry Education Partnerships for inviting Robbie to inspire the next generation of talent shaping our clean energy future.
