  • Behind every statistic is a story. Behind every story, a face. During Anti-Poverty Week (13-19 October), Together in this: Connecting communities with support, a portrait photography series ‘Eye Contact’ by Phil England was displayed at Lakeside Joondalup highlighting the lived experiences behind poverty, homelessness and housing insecurity. In 2024, over 358,000 people in Western Australia lived in poverty — that’s 1 in every 8. But poverty and homelessness aren’t faceless. They look like someone’s parent. Someone’s sibling. Someone’s friend. This exhibition brought those stories to light, reminding us to see the humanity behind the numbers. Let’s continue to stand together to end poverty and homelessness in WA. Join the No Place for Poverty movement to help create change. ✊🧡 Anti-Poverty Week City of Joondalup No Place for Poverty

  • 🫶 Supporting WA Parents at the Ngaluk Waangkiny 'Us Talking' PCWA Staff Gathering 🗣️ From September 24–26, Parenting Connection WA (PCWA) hosted a dynamic forum at Ascot Kayak Club, packed with powerful moments and practical learning. The event opened with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony by Trish Wall, followed by inspiring sessions led by Marketa Reeves, Sylvia Artoin, and Aden Date, and a rejuvenating self-care movement workshop with Emma Robson. Participants explored interactive data tools that map youth wellbeing, discovered how improvisation and cognitive science unlock the power of play, and gained practical communication skills to better connect with parents and communities. PCWA provides free, inclusive support for parents and caregivers across Western Australia through local workshops, groups, and one-on-one consultations tailored to community needs. Discover more about PCWA by heading to their website, https://lnkd.in/guxFsd8p.

  • Starting this month, Foodbank WA Bunbury will welcome an onsite Emergency Relief and Food Access (ERFAS) Financial Support Worker—offering free financial counselling alongside food assistance. Financial hardship often brings other challenges and having access to broader support can make all the difference. We’re proud to collaborate with Keystart, Financial Wellbeing Collective, and Foodbank WA to help more people take meaningful steps toward financial stability and long-term wellbeing. This is about meeting people where they are and walking with them toward a better future. #CommunitySupport #FinancialWellbeing #WAInitiatives #CollaborationMatters #AnglicareWA #FoodbankWA

For many families, visiting Foodbank WA is about more than putting food on the table, it’s also a step towards finding broader support. That’s why Keystart have partnered with Anglicare WA, the Financial Wellbeing Collective and Foodbank WA to fund an Emergency Relief and Food Access (ERFAS) Financial Support Worker in Bunbury. Starting this October, an ERFAS Financial Support Worker will be onsite three days a week to provide free financial counselling and additional support to people experiencing financial hardship in WA's South West. This initiative builds on a pilot already running at Foodbank Perth Airport and means more people in regional WA can access the right support when they need it most. • The policymakers we met during our recent Canberra trip didn’t waste any time heading to the West! Senator Sue Lines, President of the Senate, and Hon Ged Kearney MP, Assistant Minister for Social Services and the Prevention of Family Violence, recently visited our Kununurra office to see firsthand the incredible work happening across the East Kimberley region. Our Kununurra office delivers essential support services tailored to the unique needs of local communities including family counselling, FDV coordinated response and outreach, Parenting Connections WA, and support for separating parents. These programs play a vital role in strengthening families and fostering resilience. We’re excited to welcome more decision-makers to WA to witness the impact of these services and the powerful work we’re doing to uplift those facing challenges and help build a brighter future for all.

  • Behind the scenes at our Service Manager’s Conference 🎬 🤝 🏆 At Burswood on Swan, two of our Board Members, Service Managers from across WA, and key changemakers from Anglicare WA came together to exchange ideas, spark inspiration, and shape the future of our work. This year’s conference centred on our newly developed strategy—exploring how we’ll bring our purpose and values to life in meaningful, lasting ways. We also took time to celebrate the heart of Anglicare WA through the Values Awards, honouring those who consistently go above and beyond, living our values every single day. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to this energising and purpose-driven event. It was a powerful reminder of the collaboration and commitment that drive us forward. 🧡

  • Introducing Bounce Wellbeing – Empowering young minds in the heart of Karratha 🧡 🧠   In one of Australia’s most remote regions, where young people face unique challenges to their wellbeing, the need for tailored mental health support has never been more important.   That’s why we’ve joined forces with Telethon7 and Rio Tinto to launch Bounce Wellbeing — a dedicated initiative tailored for children aged 8 to 13, designed to address the individualised wellbeing concerns of young people in Karratha.   This first-of-a-kind program will focus on early intervention, family-oriented support and culturally safe practices.   Bounce Wellbeing is set to expand to Tom Price in 2026. This is another exciting step forward as we continue building a brighter, more resilient future for the next generation.

  • We can’t lie… 💁🏼♀️ We’re pretty ecstatic about the Street Connect team being named as a finalist in this year’s Youth Affairs Council of Western Australia (YACWA) WA Youth Awards alongside the Vinnies WA Passages Youth Engagement Hub for our role in the Homeless Health Care Youth Project! If you’re wondering why we were nominated, here’s the project breakdown: 👉 It’s all about providing a unique approach to meeting young people’s health needs, breaking down barriers that young people experiencing homelessness have in accessing health and medical support 👉🏽 A Primary Health Nurse and Support Worker attend the Street Connect Bus on a weekly basis and provide wrap around support for case managed young people 👉🏼 It is also the first of its kind in Western Australia! An extra special shout-out goes to legends Will Stapleton, Jasmine Siew, and Sarah Sinclair for all of your brilliant efforts. There is so much great work being done in this space and we’re honoured to have been recognised. If we’ve piqued your interest and you’d like to learn more about this project, have a look on our website to learn more. https://lnkd.in/gcRdASAt

  • Here are just some of the faces and names that make a difference in the lives of Western Australians every day. We like to call them our 'Warriors' and every Warrior needs Allies. Anglicare WA comes to the assistance of many people throughout the state in different ways, equipping them with the tools and opportunities to choose their own future. So, whether it be in housing, counselling, youth or student wellbeing services, our Warriors need your help to break barriers so that all of WA can thrive. Throwing fabulous fundraising events like The MEH Gala is just one of the ways in which we fund our services, with attendees having the additional opportunity to sign up to be one of the Allies needed to make real, lasting change in our community. Although, if you aren't attending the upcoming MEH Gala on Saturday, you can still become an Ally and make a positive impact. Visit the link below to discover how. https://lnkd.in/gWiGajN8
