That’s exactly what we saw in our recent webinar on the perinatal experiences of Autistic parents. Researchers, Dr Ru Ying Cai and Dr. Abbey Love from ARCAP and Dr Charlie Benzie from La Trobe University, and Autistic parent and project advisor, Ainslie Robinson stepped us through the gaps in perinatal care, shared new insights from research studies and introduced the Aspect Autistic Pregnancy and Parenthood Hub – a resource to better support parents and equip healthcare professionals with neuroaffirming tools. New publication alert!!! 🎉I'm thrilled to be sharing the first paper from Aspect Research Centre for Autism Practice - ARCAP's research on Autistic perinatal experiences. Thank you to everyone who expressed interest in, took part in, or helped share our research on the experiences of parenting as an Autistic dad. To our knowledge, this is the first study to focus specifically on Autistic fathers, and the response was incredible, we opened and closed recruitment in just under three weeks! It seems there are plenty of Autistic dads KEEN to share their stories, and I’m looking forward to digging into the findings and sharing them later this year.
