  • We’re proud to be part of a wider Kao Corporation community that’s committed to building a culture where everyone feels valued, heard, and empowered. As part of this commitment, we recently celebrated the launch of the AUNZ Kao Pride ERG during our Glow With Pride event, held in honour of Pride Month. Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are employee-led networks designed to support and connect individuals with shared identities, passions or experiences. The Kao Pride ERG provides a dedicated space for LGBTQIA+ employees and allies to come together, advocate for inclusivity, and help shape a more diverse and supportive workplace. During the launch, Steven Kelaher (he/him) and Brianna Grassi (she/her) introduced themselves as the new AUNZ Kao Pride leads, sharing powerful reflections on why this work matters to them and their hopes for what the group will achieve. “As someone who cares deeply about people, personal relationships and belonging, being part of Kao Pride is an honour. I’m passionate about creating a workplace where everyone feels safe, supported, and celebrated for who they are," said Brianna. "This is close to my heart, and I feel a strong responsibility to stand up, speak out, and be a loyal advocate for real inclusion, not just as a policy, but as a culture,” she added.   Steve also reflected: “I am incredibly proud to represent Kao Pride and help drive better understanding, education, and allyship within Kao.   • Kao Corporation supports employees to create meaningful change, encouraging employees to dedicate time to making a positive impact. Our Global Brand team recently stepped away from their desks and into the Empower Australia warehouse for a morning spent giving back to the community. Empower Australia is a not-for-profit organisation committed to supporting Australians in need through food relief, care packages and essential supplies. The team were proud to lend a hand, packing food hampers, stocking shelves in the food relief centre, and learning more about the incredible work the Empower team does year-round. “Days like this are a reminder of the deeper impact we can make when we work together. Volunteering alongside the passionate Empower Australia team was both humbling and extremely inspiring, and it was a privilege to be able to assist an important cause,” said Caitlyn Keely, Bondi Sands Global Head of Brand.     Earlier this month we joined industry leaders at the Ulta Beauty Field Leadership Conference, a standout event bringing together some of the most influential names in beauty. This year’s event was particularly exciting, as it marked the first time a consumer day was added to the program - 'Beauty World', giving us the incredible opportunity to connect directly with our community. With over 1,500 consumers, nearly 200 brand experiences, and more than 80 influencers in attendance, the conference was a powerful celebration of creativity, leadership, and forward-thinking in the beauty space. Showcasing our latest innovation in self tan, our new Ultra Express Self Tanning Foam, the Bondi Sands team engaged with Ulta Beauty Field Leaders and consumers face-to-face, sharing product information, hearing their feedback, and celebrating what makes Bondi Sands a leader in self tan. The influencer presence added another exciting layer, with real-time content creation and authentic product storytelling that brought our brand experience to life. A big thank you to Ulta for hosting such a vibrant, inclusive, and inspiring event.     Supporting the community and giving back is something that’s extremely important to us at Bondi Sands, and we were fortunate to be able to provide product donations to The Good Box for a recent initiative aimed at helping Australians experiencing homelessness. The Good Box is an incredible organisation committed to providing vital resources to those in need, delivered with dignity and care. Their thoughtfully packed boxes open the door to meaningful conversations and play a vital role in encouraging isolated individuals to seek support. The Bondi Sands items were included in the You Beauty Box, a specially curated care package designed to support domestic violence survivors as they rebuild their lives. We’re grateful to The Good Box for the life-changing work they do and honoured to contribute to restoring confidence and hope in those facing some of life’s toughest challenges.

  • Since we launched our Sunny SPF range in February, we’ve been busy getting our new skin-first suncare into as many hands as possible and have rolled out a couple of very exciting US partnerships. We were the Official Suncare Partner of Alex Cooper and the Unwell Network’s ‘Unwell Weekend’ in Miami. Thanks to Sunny, guests were protected from top to toe, making applying (and re-applying) suncare over the three-day event effortless. The sunshine filled weekend boasted a star-studded lineup of VIPs including Unwell talent Alex Cooper, Madeline Argy and Avery Woods (to name a few), alongside an entourage of special guests including Tyler Cameron, Rachael Kirkconnell, Victoria Villarroel and Jesse Solomon. But that was just stop one! We then hit the desert for an iconic music festival in Palm Springs, California with our CTO (that’s Chief Tanning Officer) Colt Paulsen to bring our new Sunny SPF range to Camp Poosh by Kourtney Kardashian Barker. With a poolside Sunny stall and product room drops, Poosh campers could grab their favourite Sunny product to make sure they were protected and festival ready.   Kourtney Kardashian Barker stopped by to mingle with campers and VIP guests including Emma Roberts, Patrick Ta and Shanina Shaik. There was also a special live performance from reality TV star Heidi Montag. With plenty more activity to come across the US & UK, we’re also gearing up to launch Sunny in Australia very soon!     For the second year in a row, the Bondi Sands team were incredibly proud to walk alongside our Kao Corporation colleagues in the annual Midsumma Pride March. The Midsumma Pride March is part of the Midsumma Festival, one of the largest LGBTQIA+ cultural festivals in Australia. The festival runs over 22 days in Melbourne's summer each year and brings together a diverse mix of LGBTQIA+ artists, performers, communities and audiences. With over 200 events across the festival, it draws a crowd of around 255,000 attendees each year. The march is one opportunity for allies to rally together to celebrate and support the LGBTQIA+ community. “As someone who is proud to be part of the LGBTQIA+ community, I am grateful to work for a company that not only acknowledges the importance of inclusion but actively shows up to support and celebrate it. It’s moments like this that remind me how important it is for organisations to create spaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and empowered to bring their full selves to work. Seeing Kao’s commitment to diversity and inclusion and having such a strong team behind me, fills me with immense pride.
