I help senior leaders eliminate the biggest productivity killers of their teams

About us

As you get promoted through the ranks the game changes. The further up the corporate ladder you go, the more it is about selling the vision so others follow your lead. I teach business leaders to sell their message so others want to follow. Focusing on leadership development, presentation skills and influence, I work with individuals and teams to give them the skills they need to speak as the leaders they are. I show them how to develop the ability to speak at a moments notice, control nervousness, and structure their message so others want to listen. My clients report increased confidence when speaking, greater belief in their ability to lead and improved clarity around what they want to achieve. I work one-on-one, in small groups and through keynote/workshop sessions. Check out http://www.darrenfleming.com.au for more information.

How Your Mind Works @ Work: Distraction Most people think distraction comes from their phone, email, or noisy office. That is only half the story. You can switch off your alerts, put your phone in another room, and sit in silence - and still end up scrolling, daydreaming, or drifting into ‘just one quick check.’ Distraction starts and ends inside. It’s the urge to escape, the pull of the easy over the important. External triggers only give that urge somewhere to go. Once you see distraction for what it is - an inside job - everything changes. You stop fighting the world and start training your attention. And that training travels with you. It works in noisy offices, back-to-back meetings, and even when the phone buzzes. Distraction isn’t a flaw. It’s a habit of the mind. Habits can be changed. The leaders who master this don’t just get more done. They also set the tone for their teams. A leader with calm focus is contagious - it gives others permission to slow down, pay attention, and actually do their best work. 👉 I’m running an introductory webinar, How Your Mind Works @ Work, to share practical ways you can handle distraction and build portable focus. Details are in the comments.

  • The Mindset Mastery methodology has given massive gains for the South Adelaide Football Club :)

I help organisations reduce mistakes, increase productivity and have more engaged staff

I've recently been working with the South Adelaide Football Club to implement the #MindsetMastery and #ReclaimingFocus methodology to help win more games. The results so far have been amazing.....but not always in ways that were expected. SCOREBOARD In the 10 games pre-Mindset Mastery #SAFC had won 1 game. They have won 2 of the 4 games since. TEAM FEEL Men's senior coach Jarrad Wright has stated a number of times that the team's overall look and feel has been so much better across the game since they have started using Mindset Mastery. They are now playing more as a team as opposed to a bunch of guys kicking a footy. MASSIVE UNEXPECTED RESULTS The most amazing results have come in the third quarter as follows: - Average Margin Q3 jumped from –7.8 to +16.25 (a 324% improvement) - Inside 50 Differential soared from –2.3 to +9.75 (424% increase) - Forward Turnover Differential climbed from –1.8 to +6.25 (347% gain) - Unforced Movement Diff improved by over 293% (all results statistically significant) WHY WOULD THIS HAPPEN IN Q3?? Because calm is contagious It turns out that a number of key players of the team (only 3-4)* were practicing the methodology at the halftime break. The impact of their increased level of calm and focus had a measurable effect on the other players. The figures show that their calm was enough to help others calm themselves and play at their best. WHAT'S NEXT The next step in the research is to get more players to practice the methodology right before kick off, and at all breaks to see how scores improve. Winning a game of football is about winning all the minor stats through the whole game. This study shows that Mindset Mastery can help with this. I NEED A BUSINESS TO STUDY My studies have shown that it is possible to get amazing increases in results across SANFL as well as clay-target shooting. I'm now looking or a business to study this methodology in. I want to generate a case study to be featured in my next book Reclaiming Focus. If this is something you'd be interested in talking about for your business, please DM me and we can chat about what is possible. * 2018 research from Penn State University showed that when 25% of a group adopt a new behaviour it draws other into this new behaviour. 25% of the team was calmer, and this calmed the rest of the team so they could focus and do what they need to do. #SANFL #AFL #AFLSPORTS #CASA #Cricket #sacricket #Mindset #Growthmindset #highperformance #sport #leadershipdevelopment #performancepsychology #calmiscontagious #peakperformance #mindsetshift Ben Marsh Tiffany Kirkwood Tiffany Mechkaroff Anthony Kittel Katie Scott

I help organisations reduce mistakes, increase productivity and have more engaged staff

I've been working with the South Adelaide Football Club to embed the Mindset Mastery and Reclaiming Focus methodology to help improve game performance. It's going well. ***I don't have the official data to analyse yet, but this we know: In the first 9 rounds they were 1:8 - not a good start to the season. In the 4 rounds since we've been working together they are 2:2. The coach says that the whole team is better and they are playing sharper. And it makes sense. When you learn to control your focus you are better at EVERYTHING. I'll post the official analysis when I have it. But being up 8.2(50) to 1.1(7) at the end of the FIRST QUARTER is a good sign :) If you want to learn more about Reclaiming Focus, check it out this introductory session here https://lnkd.in/gaAszijW #mindsetmastery #reclaimingfocus #SANFL #SAFC #AFL

The Dangerous Paradox of modern life. We've never had it so easy... - Food is readily available (Thanks industrial farming) - Work is available and (unemployment currently 4.1%) - We have access to instant knowledge (Thanks Google) - Entertainment is on tap (Thanks TV, radio and book in pocket) - Medical advances are saving many lives (thanks research) - Adventure is within reach (Thanks cheap travel) YET........ We are KILLING OURSELVES at the fastest rate in decades... centuries? Death by intentional self-harm is taking 7.35 lives per day. That's one every 3.5 hours. This is a slide from one of my latest presentations. I'm looking at how life can seem to be so good, but yet we are still killing ourselves. No one takes their own life unless there is a severe inner pain. It's time to shift focus to calming the inner world, so we can experience a more peaceful outer one. If we do that we might just be able to enjoy the supposedly things that make life better. #Mindsetmastery #reclaimingfocus #meditation

I’ve always loved operating in high pressure environments. From my mid-teens, I spent nearly two decades in competitive sailing. I represented Australia six times. I loved the thrill of the race. Be it a world championship, National championship, or just a club race, I loved the pressure of lining up on the start line to see how I would go. I don't think I ever fulfilled my full potential in the sport. It wasn't from a lack of discipline or commitment to my goals - I had that in ample supply. What held me back was my inability to concentrate and focus on the task of sailing the boat. I remember times when I’d be sailing along on a 3-sail reach (as per the image above), thinking of what I needed to do at home, or singing a song, or wondering what the footy score was. Mentally I was anywhere but on the boat. No one really knew how to help me with this problem. Any advice I got wasn't really helpful. Coaches and others would say things like just forget about those thoughts and focus on what is in front of you. It was said as almost as though they thought I hadn't tried that. It wasn't useful. It wasn't helpful and only made me feel as though I lacked something. No one really knew how to help. When I retired from sailing, I became obsessed with understanding why I couldn’t focus. That obsession saw me graduate in psychology, study philosophy at Oxford, and dive deep into ancient wisdoms. I wanted to understand what was going on inside my head so I could focus when I needed to. And I found the answer. You can deactivate distracting thoughts. This isn’t about distracting yourself from those thoughts, or suppressing them so they don’t distract you. You can actually deactivate them so they lose their grip on you. They then don’t worry you. I’ve proven this methodology in sporting and business settings. I’ve been able to help shooting clubs increase their accuracy by 13%. I’ve helped the South Adelaide Football Club start winning games after being 1 and 8 after 9 rounds. In the business world, I’ve shown founders and leaders how to control their focus so they can increase productivity, reduce mistakes and be happier at work. They are able to get more done with less stress, and then go home and be with their family. I’ve helped sales teams increase their sales by deactivating the distractions that pull them away from their core activities. If this sounds like something you’d like, check out my Reclaiming Focus program (link in comments). It’s an online small group coaching program that will show you how to take control of the noise in your head so you can focus on the task in front of you without distraction. Happiness lives here now, not there then. When we look forward to something we are training ourselve to ignore what is here now and look for something else. So, when that thing you've been looking forward to arrives... 1️⃣ Your habit kicks in 2️⃣ You immediately start looking forward to the next thing. 3️⃣ You miss out on actually enjoying what you once anticipated. It's simple cycle, and with a bit of awaren, it's easy to break too. #MindsetMastery #ReclaimingFocus #Happiness #PresenceIsPower #HappinessNow #StopChasing #DarrenFleming

Back in Melbourne to with with the great Aussie Icon Australia Post. Today is about focus for communication. We'll deactivate nervousness so it's no longer a problem, organise thoughts so you can think clearly under pressure and get the process for saving about 3.5 hours in prep time for every presentation.
