More opportunities for SA exporters unlocked with first-ever direct flights to #Shanghai now on sale 🛫🌏 The China Eastern flights, commencing 21 June, will enable our state's #exporters to send their products by air freight with about 15-tonnes of cargo capacity on each Airbus A350-900 flight. The release of ticket sales comes after the latest ABS export stats revealed air freight is flying out of Adelaide Airport at record levels, reaching $351.1M worth of goods (⬆️86%) in the year to November 2025. #China remains South Australia’s largest trading partner, with $3.5B worth of our premium products exported over the past 12 months. New direct flights out of Adelaide are creating real opportunities for South Australian exporters ✈️🌏 In the past 12 months alone, more than $351M worth of South Australian goods have been exported by air to markets across Asia, the United States and Europe, helping local businesses get premium products on to global plates. This includes a year-on-year tripling of South Australian lobster exports, reaching a record $137.3M - an increase of $95 million or 225%. The Heights Technical College is excited to welcome their first cohort of students in term 1, 2026. One of 5 new technical colleges in SA, The Heights Technical College will support year 10 to 12 students to complete their SACE while kickstarting careers in advanced manufacturing and engineering, aeroskills, building and construction, and early childhood and education. These opportunities have been developed in conjunction with key employee partners ASC Pty Ltd, BAE Systems Australia, Jaymel Airconditioning Pty Ltd, Samaras Structural Engineers, Boeing, Tisdall Aviation Group, Master Builders SA, BlueScope, Guardian Childcare & Education and Goodstart Early Learning. In a nation-leading initiative, The Heights Technical College students can also complete the first year of a degree with Flinders University while in year 12 in the Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering, and Early Childhood and Education industry training programs.
