Star of the show, ray of sunshine? I’ve grown to love this new wave of super hybrids in recent times, with over 5,000km driven in various models this year, but there’s one I’ve been waiting since April to drive locally. Time to see if the Geely Starray EM-i is as good as I hoped, or if it should have stayed in China. Almost 800km in 24 hours later, it’s looking promising. So, what exactly is an EM-i or Super Hybrid, and why should fleet buyers, commuters, and families all be paying attention? Let’s demystify it. A super hybrid takes what we know from hybrids and plug-in hybrids and makes it smarter. Think of it as an EV first, backed up by petrol when you need it, giving you the best of both worlds: 💪 Electric torque for instant response and smooth acceleration at all speeds, not just low speeds 👌 Whisper-quiet cabin typical of electrified vehicles 🙌 Real-world fuel economy figures that rival diesels when you do need petrol How it works in practice: • No charger? No worries. Even if you don’t plug it in, the car still uses its hybrid system to deliver exceptional efficiency, automatically recovering energy through braking and smart engine management. • Got access to power? Last week, we welcomed over 160 of our Geely family from the 47 dealers that make up Geely Auto Australia for our Geely Starray EM-i training event. Over two days, guests were able to get under the hood of the our new super hybrid (literally) and learn how it's geared for Aussie roads, as well as how to help you get the best experience from it. Here's a little recap of what happened.

In the rigourous assessment, the EX5 achieved impressive results in all categories: - 86% in Adult Occupant Protection - 87% in Child Occupant Protection - 83% in Vulnerable Road User Protection - 85% in Safety Assist The EX5 is fitted with a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System, with 16 intelligent functions. Including Automatic Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Keeping Assist. Plus, it's high-strength safety cage and Geely’s unique “Cloverleaf” energy dissipation structure protects the passenger compartment by dispersing impact forces in the event of a collision. Geely is taking global mobility further. On September 21, our second self-owned ro-ro vessel, Jisu Glory, set sail from Ningbo to Europe on its maiden voyage. With a hull measuring at 200 meters long, and a payload capacity 7,000 vehicles, the Jisu Glory strengthens our ability to deliver cars to new Geely drivers worldwide in a faster, safer and more sustainable fashion.
