PEOPLE | GHD x SiSTEM UK x STEMAZING STEAM Outreach Networking Event Last night, GHD hosted an inspiring STEAM Outreach Networking Event in partnership with SiSTEM and STEMAZING, bringing together A-level and university students with colleagues from across GHD and guest panelists Donna Otchere (SiSTEM), Alex Knight CEng FIMechE (STEMAZING), and Victoria Laslett (WING EMEA Lead, GHD). The session aimed to give young women in STEAM the chance to learn more about careers in the sector, explore the wide range of opportunities available, and connect with professionals working in the field.⚡🌊📝 The evening featured speed networking and facilitated discussion sessions that gave participants the chance not only to meet a wide range of professionals but also to present their own ideas in front of an audience. This format helped build confidence and communication skills, while encouraging meaningful exchanges between students and professionals. 🤝 The feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many students sharing how valuable it was to meet real people working in STEAM in their day-to-day environment. For many, this direct interaction helped to demystify what a STEAM career actually looks like and gave them a clearer sense of the next steps they could take in their own journeys. ✨ One of the most powerful takeaways was the importance of representation and visibility - seeing people who look like them and share similar experiences thriving in fulfilling STEAM careers had a tangible impact on the students’ confidence and aspirations. The event highlighted how much difference a simple, open conversation can make in breaking down barriers and inspiring the next generation of STEAM professionals. 💬 A huge thank you to everyone who attended and supported the event - particularly our guest speakers, partners, and GHD volunteers who made the evening such a success. 🎉👏 #STEM #Outreach #Inspiring #GHD

Today, we recognise World Mental Health Day and reaffirm that mental health is everyone’s responsibility, every day. Awareness is critical, but without action, it doesn’t change culture.
