Macquarie Asset Management has agreed to acquire an additional 50 per cent stake in London City Airport. The acquisition of the stakes takes Macquarie Asset Management’s total ownership to 75 per cent. Our CEO, Shemara Wikramanayake and EMEA CEO Rachel Palmer met London City Airport CEO, Alison FitzGerald to discuss the investment in London’s most central airport. We’re fully invested in Britain’s growth and aviation sector, having also committed to acquiring stakes in Bristol and Birmingham Airports this year. Over seven years, Macquarie Asset Management (MAM) drew on its global expertise and deep experience investing in digital infrastructure to support the growth of Aligned Data Centers across the US and Americas. Since MAM’s first investment, Aligned’s portfolio has expanded from 2 to 50 data centres under management and future development, with the businesses now owning land that can support 5 GW+ of total capacity at full build out. Macquarie Asset Management, on behalf of two of its privately managed infrastructure funds, along with its co-invest partners, has agreed to the sale of Aligned Data Centers, valued at $US40 billion. Under Macquarie Asset Management’s ownership through its managed funds, Aligned Data Centers has transformed from two operational facilities in Dallas and Phoenix and 85 MW of critical capacity into a leading hyperscale data center specialist. Today, the platform consists of 5 GW of capacity across 50 sites under management, construction and held for development across the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Chile and Colombia.
