As part of the 2024 OYSF program, Conserve Indigenous Peoples Language Organisation supported 50 Indigenous students in Cambodia’s Ratanakiri Province with educational resources, prioritising girls and those facing financial hardship. Through vocational training in hairdressing and café management, CIPL also supported the creation of Indigenous-owned microenterprises, building long-term community resilience and economic independence. Without the OYSF, youth-led community programs are at risk of loosing critical untied funding that allow them to help thousands of young people. 🌱 Welcoming Girls United for Human Rights (GUHR) to the 2025 Oaktree Youth Solidarity Fund! 🌱 Based in Pakistan and led entirely by girls aged 15–25, GUHR empowers girls and transgender youth in conflict-affected regions. Founded by Hadiqa Bashir, a survivor of early and forced marriage, the organisation tackles harmful practices such as child marriage and gender-based violence while advancing education, reproductive rights, and climate justice. With support from OYSF in 2025, GUHR will expand its impact through leadership training, advocacy, and community-based action. They’ll deliver 30 STEM and SRHR sessions, train 50 youth in policy engagement, and lead a tree plantation campaign involving 200 girls. Their efforts aim to shift national legislation and ensure youth voices lead the way in building a more just future. Founded by young people who experienced these barriers themselves, they support marginalised students through long-term scholarships, mentorship, and interactive, storytelling-based learning that fosters creativity and critical thinking. In 2025, Canopy Nepal will expand its impact by training young facilitators in student-centred teaching methods, making education more engaging, personalised, and inclusive. By empowering both learners and young educators, they are reimagining what a just and equitable education system can look like. Using arts and culture as tools for healing, their trauma-informed, intersectional approach promotes expression, resilience, and social cohesion. Led entirely by young professionals under 35, Parindey co-designs programs with youth to reflect lived realities and local needs, from public art and storytelling to theatre for dialogue and mental health first aid. In 2025, they’ll deepen their impact by training teachers to embed these student-centered methods into everyday teaching so the benefits continue well beyond the program.
