  • We're thrilled to share that REA Group has won the Workplace Giving Australia Award for Best Volunteering Program! Offering up to seven days of paid volunteer leave for each employee, we provide the flexibility for our people to engage in deep, meaningful, and long-term community partnerships—from skilled pro-bono projects to hands-on team days. In FY25, almost half of our people volunteered, contributing over 7,000 hours to the community. As an industry built on homes, we have a fundamental role to play in ensuring everyone has one. This responsibility was the central theme of our World Homelessness Day panel, “Why this, why now, why us?" The discussion highlighted the need for collaboration, and the A Home for All Foundation can be a key part of achieving that. The path forward requires long-term scalable strategies built by the private, not-for-profit and public sectors. There are over 122,000 Australians experiencing homelessness on any given night, which is a huge number, but as our panellists pointed out – our industry has the scale to make a difference. Thank you to our amazing panellists, Sherri Bruinhout, Robert Pradolin GAICD, Oscar Stanley and Brea Dorsett for leading the conversation.

  • Today, on World Homelessness Day, we reflect on our purpose at REA Group – to change the way the world experiences property. This purpose must extend to everyone, including the thousands of Australians experiencing homelessness on any given night. Purpose inspires action. Last night, more than 90 of our people participated in an ‘office overnighter’ to raise funds and awareness for A Home for All Foundation. We spent the evening learning more about homelessness in a myth-busting session, followed by a $5 dinner challenge, before watching the 2008 documentary, The Oasis. Today, we'll be joined by experts within the property and homelessness sectors to discuss the reality of homelessness in Australia, the urgent need for action, and why the property industry must come together to enact change. Homelessness is a growing issue and our best chance to combat it is to work together. To find out more and show your support, head to https://lnkd.in/gZUwqpJx

  • Over the weekend, REA Group proudly sponsored and hosted Google Developer Group (GDG Melbourne) DevFest Melbourne 2025 — Google’s premier developer community conference. The event brought together exceptional talent from across the tech industry to share insights on AI, software development principles, culture‑building in technical teams, and innovative ways to manage tech debt. It was great to see REA colleagues take the stage to present their work to the GDG community. Senior Software Engineer James McDowell presented 'Reducing Incident Response Time through Targeted App Observability & Alerting', and Machine Learning Engineer Olga Yevtushenko🇺🇦 shared 'Predicting Property Attributes in Real‑time with Multimodal AI on Google Cloud.' We enjoyed being amongst such a vibrant and collaborative tech community, and we’re excited to continue celebrating innovation, curiosity and knowledge‑sharing at future events. A big thank you to the REA team who volunteered their time to bring this event to life! Robertus Indradjaja Poornima Sivakumar Chutima Puthachon Myles Abbott #experienceREA

  • Every flat white, soy latte and choc-chip muffin sold at our Community Café in August helped Wildlife Victoria protect our state’s native wild animals, with REA team members doing it with heart raising $8,700 for the organisation. Each month, our employees nominate organisations to receive the proceeds from our Community Cafe. Our latest beneficiaries are the furry, fuzzy and flapping animals that Wildlife Victoria has been caring for since 1989. Lisa Palma, CEO of Wildlife Victoria, shared how REA Group’s donation will be put to good use. “Support from our generous community ensures that our 24/7 Emergency Response Service and Travelling Veterinary Service are ready to help with the more than 160,000 reports of sick, injured and orphaned wildlife we receive each year,” Lisa said. “Wildlife Victoria is incredibly grateful to the staff at REA for choosing to support us during our busiest period, helping us give thousands of animals a second chance at life.” #experienceREA

  • And that’s a wrap on legal training season! 🦅 Amongst the many roles our legal team performs around the house, one of the most important is our annual legal training. It’s how we ensure our 1,700 Australian-based employees are playing from the same rulebook and upholding REA's commitment to integrity. REA Group Chief Legal Officer & Company Secretary Tamara Kayser reflected: “It’s fantastic to see the whole business engage. Our team works hard to make complex topics accessible and interesting. This year, we dived into how to innovate responsibly with Generative AI, the best ways to protect our customers' privacy, and what we can learn from the latest courtroom dramas to help shape our own best practices.” And in the spirit of walking the talk, the Brady Bunch inspired image for this post was created using Generative AI - a fitting nod to one of this year's key training topics. Big shoutout to all our Legal Eagles who keep things running smoothly behind the scenes all year ‘round – we’re lucky to have you! #experienceREA

  • We’re excited to announce REA has entered into an agreement to acquire a controlling stake in Planitar Inc., the Canadian company behind iGUIDE. iGUIDE is a proprietary camera and software platform that uses advanced AI capabilities to identify property features and produce immersive 3D virtual tours, precise floor plans and reliable property measurement data. REA Group Chief Executive Officer, Owen Wilson, said: "This type of spatial mapping technology instils confidence and helps property seekers make more informed decisions while also providing agents and vendors a way to differentiate their property to secure the best outcome. iGUIDE’s interactive floor plans and 3D tours are a natural extension for realestate.com.au and this proposed acquisition allows us to build on the video capabilities we have today, driving increased consumer engagement and delivering highly qualified leads to customers. “I’m delighted to welcome the iGUIDE team into REA and look forward to introducing iGUIDE’s leading 3D tour and floor plan technology to the Australian market,” Owen said. iGUIDE co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Alexander Likholyot, who will transition to a Strategic Advisor and Director role following completion, commented: “It was clear after our initial discussions last year, REA was the right fit for our business and we’re delighted to be joining the Group.” Read more about the announcement here: https://lnkd.in/g8kp2kcg
