Vultures may be considered part of the “Ugly Five,” but their role in the wild is anything but unappealing. By feeding on carcasses, they prevent the spread of disease, recycle nutrients back into the soil, and maintain a healthy landscape for all species.⁠ ⁠ Though not always loved, these birds are essential to balance and biodiversity.
